It's gonna be Jimbo. Book it.

Texas won't hire a black coach. End of story.

I think they may have to get past that hurdle for this one.

I know not many will believe this but saban is absolutely still in play and UT will officially offer him the job soon now that the spot is officially "open"

You just refuse to give up, eh?

I'd add Dabo to that list.

Jimbo is probably the best candidate, but I'm not sure they will get him.

So.... they'll have to consider top candidates that have succeeded in unlikely places.
Franklin, Cutcliff.

Maybe even throw in Cam Cameron.

I figure if no hire is announced by Sunday, Saban will be the hire on Monday

it really amazes me that so many Alabama fans are so confident that Saban loves their school and would never leave that they have to drown this board with insults and spamming any comment in regards to Saban. It's pretty humorous. At several points AFTER Saban "signed" his extension, this board was 50% full of threads about the Texas search, all started by Bama fans.

The Texas AD said a lack of college coaching experience would omit a candidate. That being the case, I don't see Jack Del Rio being pursued.

Do you get tired of trolling with the same bait? Try something less shiny.

What makes del Rio tier 1 besides the fact that he lifts weights and has nice hair. He has no personality and isn't overly good at coaching football.

no clue. Having Gus on their and not Saban is ludicrous. Also, Miles definitely should be on their as tier 1.

TheDoc, if you're trolling, I'm not sure if you should be given an award or permabanned from this site.

I think Urban Meyer is a really good choice and that he might enjoy being back in the south again.

This is purely my opinion, but if I were UT I'd give Mark Richt a call. He's a relatively young guy who's been successful at UGA but has seemed to be on the "hot seat" for the last 5-6 years. Very good QB developer who would be going to a state known for producing great QBs. Recruiting would probably be a little bit easier in TX, and the competition wouldn't be as tough as in the SEC. He's been at UGA for over 10 years now, and might be silently looking for a change of scenery. With his record-setting QB moving on, now would probably be the perfect time to make a move.

not a bad idea there...dont think it will happen but the idea is intriquing..
