Appreciate the information, I would prefer Herman over Jimbo, can't wait to hear that announcement.

It's all part of the negotiations. LSU presented an offer to Jimbo, a very good one. He counters so that he feels he's getting his way. LSU bluffs and leaks out Herman is close to a deal. Jimbo calls back and says hold up, we can do this and I'll agree to that, and we have a deal.

I am worried about that "generous out" you mentioned. I know if Jimbo came, he would finish here unless he is fired. I am wondering what Herman intentions are. I prefer Herman, but would be happy with both. Just how soon could we be doing this again if Herman uses it as a stepping stone? Maybe he falls in love with LSU and stays the rest of his career. Or 2 years from now, we could be searching again.

Tom Herman is the coach because Jimbo doesn't want to come here/LSU didn't want to meet all his demands

So Aranda isn't going to Ole Miss? Their 247 Board will be quite disappointed to learn that Dave doesn't want to experience probation at a lower level school.

This contradicts my source I talked with this afternoon. I asked if Jimbo was coming to LSU and he told me he wasn't leaving and sounded pretty confident about it. He was an old Indian guy from Tallahassee that was sitting next to me at the blackjack table at the Gold Nugget in Biloxi. I think he probably owns one or more gas stations in Tally. Not a very good BJ player, by the way. In fact at one point he tried to take his bet down after the cards were dealt . They frown on that at the casino.....maybe he isn't a very good source now that I think about it.

His side didn't counter the salary, but the only thing he wanted was a more generous exit clause, which LSU is apparently okay with

This is...a bit concerning.

It sounds like he wants an easy way out if Texas, Southern Cal, or the NFL come calling in a few years.

If he is in demand by Texas USC or the NFL after a few years here that would be a huge win for us .... remember that guy that left for the NFL after a few years it was some thing like Ned .... or no maybe Nathan satan ... wait no no it was nick ... nick saban ... how'd that one work out.
