Current (2006) rosters

Still living in the past I see

I really see no difference between BAMA and Michigan fans.. Its very amusing how they like to throw around things that happend 20 years ago. Although I give BAMA credit. They have a passion for football and dont golf clap at the games.

one year old data are better than no data at all-which is what you post.

almost forgot-Jon Gruden said his life goal is to be HC at Michigan.

That makes five major league guys (Gruden, Meyer, Holz, Miles, Phil Folmer from Tennessee) who SPECIFICALLY named Michigan as a top (or THE top) CFB program in the country, and ZERO for LSU.

Zero.

look Michigan is a bigger job and more relevant nationally, no doubt about it. but better is to the beholder. hell, many say ND is the best. Spuurier would say Florida, Texas, etc. With the right coach to attract the best athletes UM is top 3 job. period. UM can't say that recently but they will be back.

LSU has 244 players who played one or more seasons in the NFL. Michigan has 305.

You don't want to play that game. Grambling is better than both LSU and Michigan in that case. Eddie Robinson had over 200 players play in the NFL and hall of famers, Willie Brown, Buck Buchanan, Willie Davis, and Charlie Joiner came out of Grambling's program. This was accomplished with nothing in the way of budget, facilities, and enrollment that LSU and Michigan had, not to mention the problems caused by segregation.

And who cares what coach said what about Michigan or didn't mention LSU? What does the number of players in the NFL have to do with the fact that Michigan is doing interviews for its vacant HC position? A more pertinent thing to discuss would be can (and/or how does) potential coach X sell recruits on Michigan, a team made infamous recently by losing to Appalachian State in the Big House. Let's not forget for recruiting purposes, Michigan has lost to its biggest rival in Ohio State six out of the seven years (including 4 in a row) Tressel has been the coach at Ohio State.

Don't know about Bob Stoops, but no harm in asking. Fans think they know what coaches want, then Saban jumps to the NFL, Spurrier goes to SC, Tx. A&M hires Sherman. Never say never unless you know the guy personally.

In what way is any of that comparable? Going to the NFL as a head coach is ALWAYS a step up no matter what college you're at. Spurrier was unemployed. Sherman was an NFL assistant making less than he will at A&M.

I am not sure. His performance is at times underwhelming.

But that begs the question-who do I want? Again-I am not sure. Maybe Miles, maybe Kelly (Cinci), or Grobe (Wake).

My guess-and it is nothing more than that-is that it is between Miles and Kelly.

This keeps you warm and toasty at night? I imagine being the winning-est program in the history of college football helps you cope, especially with the humiliation that followed the loss to Appy State and the nationally-televised forced sodomization at the hands of Oregon this season.

History cuts both ways, Skippy...and recent history ain't on your side. It's why you're looking for a coach. And for all their bluster, not one of the guys you mentioned has made even the slightest indication of acting on their assessment of your program and taking the reins. Sounds like a lot of bluster to me.

Recent history has shown us that Michigan is a lot like marijuana...(you both get smoked in bowls).

Nobody will be excited for the upcoming season if Miles stays. The spring game, errr scrimmmage will only have about 5000 people there in attendance.

I believe if we make a splash with a big name coach, (SOS, TT, etc) the spring game could easily boast more than 15,000 people. That's just the difference.

It's kinda like getting all excited about getting a new car and then you have to settle on a used car that you really don't like, although it does run.

Just wow......speaking for about 10% of the fanbase of LSU. I bet you are voting for Ron Paul as well.
