He was under Meyer for 3 years and had already made a name for himself before that. He's hardly a Meyer deciple.

Sorry, guys, but I view Tom Herman as the flavor of the month. I want to see how this year plays out for him at Houston before we send a moving van to Houston.
If we win out or go 4 - 1 the rest of the year, I like Coach O's chances to be very successful here going forward.
I have a lot less confidence in King Alexander to make a good decision.

True. Most successful coaches eventually abandon the place at which they achieve stardom, and move back to their home state. It's why Miles left for Michigan, and why Saban went to Bama.

He kisses his players because that's what he does with his sons, a lot of his players have never experienced love and affection from a father figure.

Texas has their own network and doing pretty good I might add without having to share the revenues.

Tom Herman and Coach O are completely different coaches but they both have 1 thing in common.......neither one will bring LSU back to the glory years. Herman is more like a Hugh Freeze and builds his teams around his skill players while the offense will be fun to watch he will continue to lose 2 to 4 games per year......just like Ole Miss. Coach O on the other hand will build his teams around the big boys in the trenches but doesn't know enough about the X's and O's of the game. Coach O has the right mind set on how to build a championship caliber team and if Coach O were to surround himself with some top of the line coordinators(which I believe we already have one in DA but I don't see him staying here very long) and position coaches he has a better chance than Herman at righting this ship. Coach O will struggle at keeping good coordinators and will continue to lose 2 to 4 games per year.

Coach Herman is a hug and kiss you kind of guy while coach O is a punch you and kick your arse kind of guy!!

I didn't know much about him (besides his impressive record at UH and his time under Urban Meyer). That interview made me like him personally. Seems like a good, thoughtful guy.

Seth Davis basically asked him about the LSU job being open along maybe others as well being open. What does he tell recruits as far as will he be at Houston for 4 years or more?

He just said that no coach in America can tell a recruit with certainty that they will be at the school they're at for any amount of time. That's about it. I would think that statement means he is all but gone.

Let's say if he was at LSU and Davis asked him that same question I would go out on a limb and say he wouldn't say the same thing. He would say that he loves LSU and he would hope to be here for a long long time.

I think he's a very good coach, but I dislike him. Remember when he committed an NCAA recruiting infraction, which was reported in the press, then he went on the reporter's morning radio show to feud with him about it? Here's the (mobile) LINK. That wasn't a good look for him or UH—he just came across as bitter and petty. That's not the way you want the HC of a premier, always-scrutinized team like LSU to be conducting himself.

Also, is the coaching changes board closed? No? Then why is this OP on the Rant?

Tom Herman has lost 5 games in his last 5 seasons (57-5): 3 with Urban at tOSU and 2 at Houston.

Winners win.

Yes, he's had an impressive amount of success, but he ain't bulletproof. He lost to UConn last year and Navy this year. My point isn't that he's a bad coach, just that he's as fallible as any other coach.
