If I were an Auburn fan, and I knew what Arkansas fans did about just how useless Horton was, I'm not sure I would even bring up that we hired him.

He's such a non-factor that you will forget he is even on staff. He would shovel shite off the field if it were a paying job at Arkansas but BB didn't offer him that sort of job.

He's a stage 5 clinger that literally doesn't move out of your apt until you toss his shite on the street or threaten to call the cops. BB told him the new coach would be here soon and, yes, you literally have to leave now Timmy.

You've all told us.

Just as ole Dale pointed out, he missed on Kodi Burns, Lee Ziemba, & Kiehl Frazier. All of who Arkansas was desperate to get.

Didn't help Knile Davis in 2010.

Basically, has done nothing but collect a pay check thanks to Petrino's generosity.

Who am I kidding, let's just chalk Auburn up as an 'L' next season.

No I pointed out that since he has been here there has been a tendency for the state's top recruits to go elsewhere, including this year, which doesn't fit the "Ace recruiter" tag given to him by Auburn fan.

But spin away.

You are happy, we are happy.

The truth of the matter is he's the TE coach. He is the least important coach on our staff, it really doesn't matter. Our staff and Arky's staff are both very good

It's no coincidence that he holds the title of (as you said) 'least important coach' on your staff.

Seriously. You guys are happy to have the 'ace recruiter' that had as much chance as someone from Minnesota landing our in-state talent. We are happy because no one knew exactly what the frick he did other than collect a check from the University for 75 years by basically just being a golly gee good guy!

Win/Win

I'm glad we didn't hire some random no name guy. Solid hire

isnt that basically what timmy is? he's not regarded as an especially good football coach, nor as the primary reason recruits came to play at arkansas. his only claim to fame is being a life-long razorback from a respected in-state family and knows alot of high school coaches in the area.

Horton was the last remnant of the old guard.

The last eye sore that reminded the football program of days when all you had to do was eat Petit Jean Meat and be real nice to Nutt & Broyles and you can have a job for life.

It's not 1992 anymore and unfortunately for Tim the University can no longer make up jobs or carry dead weight all in the name of keeping the good christian men of the SWC employed.

We could flame all day whenever Arkansas hires their TE coach, cuz I guarantee it won't be some big name. That's because there are no big name TE coaches. We hired a guy with experience coaching and recruiting in the SEC, that's about as good as it gets for a TE coach

Jarius Wright -Same as above
Brey Cook -Lives 20 miles from UARK campus
Knile Davis -Ok good pull
Ronnie Wingo Jr -Horton got him, but he is a BUST
Darius Winston -No idea who got him, BUST
Joe Adams -Same as Tyler and Jarius Wright
Ok he got him, he lives 20 miles from UARK
Brandon Allen -Dad is on staff

There are differences between recruiting for Arkansas and recruiting for Auburn. Different places, different promises, etc. Plus, he is not a recruiting coordinator for us. He is also coaching TEs. His job is different at Auburn, so don't try to compare it with his time at Arkansas.

Glad we could pick him up. Horton and Malzahn will do work in Arkansas. Not that we've had any trouble snatching up recruits from there in a long time, anyways. This staff is amazing on paper.

I was in Little Rock last week and had the conversation with several die hard Arky fans about Horton. To a man, they all agreed he would be a huge loss. He is very highly respected across the state by everyone that knows anything about football.

Of course, now that he pops up on the radar for Auburn the jilted lovers on here say he sucks.

Horton is a great guy and a class act. I hope you guys pay and treat him well. I'm not sad about this at all though, we weren't going to retain him unless we couldn't get someone bigger. If horton left that means that we got a higher tier coach. I say this because you're fricking crazy if you think horton wouldn't have stayed at arkansas if he was offered any on the field coaching position.

I agree, I think he wanted to stay. That's where he played and makes his home. However, just because CBB decided to go in a different direction with his staff doesn't say everything about his ability to coach.

AR has had a lot of good running backs under his watch and the only year there were fumbling issues that I remember is last year.

As far as recruiting, Arkansas has always been a tough place to recruit. It's a low population state that is surrounded by big-time programs in the SEC and Big 12. To blame Horton for the loss of 4 & 5 star recruits, in state or otherwise, isn't really being fair.
