I was listening to Clay Matthews this morning and they were discussing Strong and money/booster situation. It made me think that Texas, with all its money may go looking for a bigger fish than Herman. They know they have to get a homerun hire this time. Wouldn't it make sense for them to go after someone that's already proven if money is no object?

Well they swung and missed for Saban when they tried that. They better come correct to Sexton if they want to go down that road. Over $10 mil per year.

I guess it's possible. Herman to Texas just makes too much sense though.

It's not the money on that makes it hard to compete with Texas. Its the desparation.

They can't let the top up and coming coach who is outperforming you at Houston leave the state.

I don't think they necessarily have to go looking through NCAA....the money and resources are in place for them to go looking in the NFL ranks...I would start looking at the Belechick coaching tree...namely Josh McDaniel

Normally, I would agree...but after the last go around...not even worth the call to be told no.

ETA - also, Texas isn't going to break the bank a la Michigan with the Harbz. We'd sully our academic "reputation."

I said this yesterday there are a couple of big time boosters that aren't sold on Herman. They are wanting a big name, Dabo was being talked about by Red McComb

Mack Brown and Joe Jamail conspired to frick Texas out of Saban. Unless Saban suddenly doesn't care about money, Texas could outbid Bama for him.

Well, you're missing the third and fourth persons in that little coup, but otherwise.....

There is literally no discussion of Saban anywhere. The boosters with the Saban connection aren't even making any noise this time.

I don't think they can. Hell the rec would start ordering hits on Texas BOD members.
