Houston isnt getting in. The question is if they are letting Tulane and another not named Houston in.

They can't really believe Tulane brings anything to the table in athletics.

And Houston is just a big commuter college. Think UNO on steroids. It's not a bad place by any stretch but it doesn't have a big following or atmosphere.

Because they want to kill their own conference. Honestly, it's going to be pretty humorous when Texas and OU bail and these other schools like Iowa State and Kansas State that are against expansion get left out in the cold.

They could have thought long term and added BYU and Houston to actually strengthen the conference but they're worried about short term and are worried they won't recruit as well in Texas if they expand so they'll follow along with everyone else. That'll eventually kill the conference and then those schools will act shocked like they didn't realize it could actually happen.

TCU voting no because scared of competing with Houston.

OU voting no because they secretly want the Big12 to dissolve so they can go elsewhere.

Wrong. It's BYU and obviously a slew of mediocre teams including Houston, Cincy, Memphis etc.

If they had to force an expansion, I think they would go BYU and Houston but, I don't even think it happens

Tulane in a power 5 conference is hilarious

I could've told you that. Del Conte has been downplaying expansion all year, even at an alumni event over the summer.

They're voting no because adding UH provides no benefit to any of them.

Adding Uh would only have a negative impact on every program in that conference.

I cant imagine any texas schools wanting Houston in. Especially UT, and arent they the only vote that counts?

Isn't the question expand yes or no? And then who?

Last I heard Texas has got TCU and Texas Tech to say no. If so OU is in play for leaving. Mostly want to get Big 12 Network done. That's where the money is at.

Then the question is Houston? Houston doesn't add tvs so why would they do it. Atleast Tulane would theoretically add tvs. I think they go somewhere else to expand footprint and tvs.

Concerned about the Big 12 being watered down with mid-major programs.

though not token by any means, Texas fulfills the role as the leading academic in the Big 12

If I am God and was deciding things for the Big 12 they have to take Cincy to start.

Gets the tri-state area picking up Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana for your network and recruiting. Obviously Ohio is a big get top players come out of Cincy to OSU/Michigan all the time. Breaks the 100+ year stranglehold on the state OSU has had

After that you can take whoever the hell gets you the biggest market. Doesnt even matter

If they tasked me with going to pick up Herman, I would get there in about 2 1/2 hours.
