Would be a great hire especially since the Aggies all said he would be a terrible coach

he has one year as a GA under Briles and one year under his former OC. to say thats from the Briles tree is a pretty serious reach.
Babers was an assistant under Briles. Gilbert spent three seasons as an assistant under Babers...

So either run up the middle or throw to the sidelines...that sounds familiar...if that's a true example of what they run then no freakin thanks. That was terrible

Wouldn't think I'd ever agree but after watching the video I do now. That was some high school crap.

I realize it was only one game, the game was against UTEP. That offense looks pathetic.
I watched a few other YouTube offense UT games. His offensive scheme looks strange.

That's a spread offense.. however, I don't like a few things. Where was the TE? We have weapons at that position, and I don't recall seeing one pass to that position that whole game. Where were the passes over the middle? NOT ONE. I can't believe there wasn't even one. I understand spreading and hitting the outsides to open up the running lanes, but you can't do that against good SEC defenses. Their redzone offense is atrocious... I know their 18 wheeler package, but that was a horribly executed series. There would need to be a lot of tinkering. I like a lot of what I saw, but the most troubling things were what I DIDN'T see.

Gilbert has a shallow yet impressive resume. I'm intrigued thinking about what he would do here and Guice would probably eclipse that 2,000 yard mark.

Was this guy in O's binder? Can he cook a gumbo?

Not enough success at major college level yet imo.. We need someone who's been around offense a while.. They are taking complete reins of the Lsu offense. I like the helfrich hire. He's been a HC and coached at some very successful places that set records. He's familiar with multiple offenses including a run oriented spread attack. He's a perfect fit to take over and completely build his offense and run with it.. That's what O needs imo.. Sterling would probably excel at a place like bama under Saban. But under O he will have a lot more freedom and sterling may be too young and inexperienced to take on a task like Lsu

Well we can have him as run game coordinator or something else if we want to keep Grimes. Or we just put him on the shadow staff lol.

Lots of zone read, RPOs, and play action.

Why is no one else trying to hire him at the moment?
