Damn, Bret has balls of steel. Went out and hired an FBS HC to be a coordinator and gave him a non-compete clause.

Bama HCIW.

Just wait till Kirby insists on the same thing in his assistants' contracts.

Noncompete clauses are easily challengeable in court

I think this one would hold up. It's clear, limited in scope, and more than reasonable.

Would largely depend on where it ended up being heard.

It's definitely clear, but I'm not sure either the 2nd or 3rd prongs are true.

I bet its nice to know that you can force a coach to stay, even if he wants to leave for more money, personal or family reasons, etc. Must make a happy work life for him...

Yeah, we must have really forced his hand in order to get him to leave an FBS HC job to be our OC. He must hate working for Bert.

yes, i've noticed he looks really sad on the sideline smiling during our games. he obviously just hates it with a passion and would much rather be at georgia with a total unknown at the helm.

Why is an LSU fan so concerned with whether Enos can leave Arkansas? Hmmmmm

I don't really care, just providing you a correct legal analysis.

No compete stated he could not leave for another SEC OC job. He could leave to be a head coach in the SEC or a coord somewhere else. Bret has the same no compete clause in his contract. He cannot leave for another SEC head job.

Bret has the same clause in his contract. Cannot leave for another head coaching gig in the SEC. Can go anywhere else, but not SEC.

But they are almost never challenged in college football and will not be challenged here. So it is a moot point.

Even if the non compete wouldn't hold up in court, no HC is going to wait the amount of time to win that case to get their OC

Could the answer be "17"?
