It's the exact same as Penn St. and Joe Pa. Sure Joe Pa didn't end up in jail, but he certainly turned a blind eye.
And for those who say no one has been arrested, 2 football players have already been found guilty (after receiving NO punishment from Briles) of sexual assault/rape and 1 reached a settlement with his victim.

I work in commercial insurance for large organizations. My company brokers the insurance and risk management for Tulane, for example.
Wrongful termination is settled fairly often for the same reasons anything else is settled. It's cheaper than paying the legal fees to fight it.
That settlement is not telling and people abuse wrongful termination in the same way they do any other form of litigation.

Probably doesn't want details out in court too

As well, he's never admitted anything beyond "I made some mistakes". Tell that to the families of the coeds who were raped by his players. And then treated like whores by the athletic dept i.e. the head coach. Read some of the depositions, which is not the same thing as the media. What went on under his watch & approval would make any parent sick to their stomachs.

It's been proven at this point that he was made aware. As well as the AD.

I agree. I also believe him being fired is not indicative of him being involved, for exactly the same reason. Much easier (and logical) to fire the head coach and wash your hands of it all as best as possible.

Devils Advocate -
What I read he said call the police and have them arrested.
Sounds like title ix he need to tell school. It sounds like another coach told him vs police and judicial board at college.

Has it not been proven that he was brought into loop, and then did nothing?
I certainly won't condome hiring him because "maybe he was the scapegoat." Because he very well couldn't have been the scapegoat.
Not worth it for the PR and hopefully not worth it ethically.

The 60 Minutes segment on Briles had excerpts that they were able to present on air. Just those parts were sickening to any parent. Second chances are one thing. He needs to come clean & admit his role first. He refuses to do that.

joe paterno played that same innocent role until his death
I think he knew
just like i think Briles should of followed up and not let someone else brush it under the rug.

No one can prove that he didn't turn a blind eye.

Exactly. We aren't hiring Briles.
We could however go get Gilbert who runs the Veer and Shoot offense

I know we aren't
And I know the other thread is mostly in jest
But it seems many would actually be ok with the hire, which is sorta saddening, really

I just like his comment on telling people to go read the depositions when he didnt do it himself.
Thats like me telling someone to go watch the LSU game when all I did was watch the highlights on sports center

proven where? on this board? 60 minutes? Please don't think I am trying to exonerate him, but to be honest there is a lot of speculation going on.
I have a friend that knows him on a personal level and he can't believe that Briles knew. It's like you believing one of your mentors who was all about doing the right thing being accused of something like this.
There is usually a lot more to the story than what is reported in the media. I still think he is ultimately responsible, but I would need a lot more info before I grab the bucket of tar and bag of feathers.

That's fair
I don't intend on reading the depositions though
I've had enough self inflicted torture recently
