Somebody is going to finish last. Somebody is not going to make a good bowl. Somebody has to lose. There is a lot of money being thrown around. Who's fan base will be disappointed next year?
a. Miles
b. Saban
c. Tubberville
d. Petrino
e. Croome
f. Nutt
g. All (everyone has at least 2 losses)

Tubberville and Miles will probably fight for the title.

Nutt and Petrino are new and can blame the last guy if they struggle.

Croom coming off a bowl is safe for this year.

Just leaves Saban and his $4mil salary.

Saban is on the hot seat now and I dont see him standing for at least another year. IMHO I dont think you guys will allow Les to lose two without calling for his head. Staying at LSU did pull favor for him on his behalf.

This will be the norm from now on, with a 1 loss season the exception.
With that said, none will be on the hot seat next year.

Ole Miss is in such bad shape that it will take nutt more than two years to turn it around, so he will not be on the hot seat yet.

I think it will be between Saban and Petrino. I think petrino will be exposed as the overrated coach that he is, and I just plain don't like saban, so I hope he fails miserably and has many more 6 loss seasons

I left out 2008 because...

Petrino and Nutt will be in their first year (honeymoon)

Miles will be coming off of a National Title (hopefully) he's exempt next year

Tubberville and Croome just got extensions

Saban will not be fired after 2 years

But in 2009, there could be some unhappy big spenders out there.

That's the SECE, but let's look at them...

Tennessee - their fans have wanted him out for 5 years now

UF - can't see Meyer being in trouble at all

USCe - maybe he'll give up and retire

UK - probably will be ready to fire Brooks by 2009. Woodson bought him an extra 3 years

Vandy - they would have to be like 2-10 to want a change

UGA - Richt will be safe

I think we will all be on probation within 4 years. With all of the coaches we have hete now you know that recruiting is about to get ugly.

So let's all raid the East for recruits.

Honestly, I've got to believe that Saban and Petrino have an advantage by not having an in-state rival. Croom will get a year or two worth of love fest for his job done this year, but that poor guy can't catch a break. Nutt has his work cut out for him. So his honeymoon may be short. I think Tuberville and Saban have the toughest road the next 2 years, and might both end up on the hot seat. Saban more than Tuberville based simply on having to climb up and not just maintain a program that's currently on top.

I think Les's head will be safe for a while. Unless someone has 15 million dollars laying around

it's really hard to say b/c all the ones from the hot seat this year are gone. nutt and petrino will get a couple of years to prove themselves, tubby finished strong, croom was def on the hot seat coming into the season but he showed serious potential this year, saban still has a chance to prove he is the second coming of bear bryant, and you can't put a coach on the hot seat for going to the national championship. i'd say the west is looking pretty legit next year!!

Nutt will get a pass due to Coach O's inability. Petrino will make Arkansas' O dangerous in ways of more deminsions, Felix Jones stays and they keep their running game and add a dynamic pass attack. IMO, it will be LSU and Arkansas competing for the SECW. Auburn will fall to 4th, with Bama finishing 3rd. Saban will have to beat Tubberville or he has one season left. I think Bama will beat Auburn this year, but lose to LSU and Arkansas and a couple from the east. I think MSU goes back down to 5th.

You guys aren't reading closely. I said 2009. I know that barring an 0-fer, all of the coaches are safe next year. But what about the year after when coaches getting paid millions of dollars aren't winning their own division.

Saban will never be on hot seat because of his contract. It's guaranteed for another 7 years with no friggin buyout. I like Saban and think he's a good coach, but that has to be the most one sided contract ever. He'll never be fired.
He'll leave first

G. Everyone has 2 losses in 2009.

I think it will take an incredibly talented team to make it through the SEC with less than 2 losses from now on. Not that it's easy now by any stretch, but I think we may have raised the bar too high for ourselves. LSU will no longer be able to consider the odd years as the easy schedule. The SEC East will definitely have an advantage. On a plus side, you can look for the SEC's OOC record to maintain or improve. Besides Vandy other coferences can no longer schedule a "weak" SEC opponent to boost their SOS.
