3 yrs to win the sec

I don't know, do you think Georgia fans are satisfied with Kirby Smarts first year and five losses. If O is that bad, even those of you that like his hire will be screaming.
I would not be thrilled if I was a Georgia fan, but Smart's situation is a little bit different, so he should get a little more slack. They started a true freshman QB most (all?) of the year. O needs to hit the ground running.
I like the Orgeron hire and had him even with Herman as my second choice behind Jimbo, but if LSU loses 5 games next year and there aren't extenuating circumstances, like major injuries, then he should be one and done.

The bar should be a MAX of 2 losses per year, with at least one SEC Championship and a CFP run in the first 3 years.

One SEC win so he can do better than last time?

30-9 would be solid.. Especially if the offense is finally good again and he wins a few good bowls. Thing is with a 10-2 record he would be very close to a championship. Maybe one player or two away. I would hope if we are Right there on the cusp winning 10 a year then a qb would emerge and do that little bit extra to win that one game that gets is to the playoffs.

He stood up and said to all of LA and LSU fans that he wants to build a championship team. Not 3 years down the road, rt now. We should hold him and Joe Alleva to their championship remarks.

Because it feels like he has a lower bar than what we expected from Miles or what we would have expected from Herman or Jimbo...

10-3 with a win over Bama could mean that we either missed the SEC and lost the playoff, or lost and SEC championship game. Those are pretty good scenarios.

No, 10-3 means we went 9-3 and won a bowl game or 10-2 and lost the bowl game. If we play in the SECG, we will have 14 total game. If we make the playoff, we will have at least 14 games unless something colossal happens in college football and a 2 loss, non-championship game participant, makes the playoff, which seems nearly impossible.
9-3 is unacceptable and I'm excited about Orgeron.
10-2 and a loss in the bowl game, ok, but not thrilling, because we likely either lost to Florida, which makes me want to vomit, or at home to Auburn for the first time since 1999.
Look at next year's schedule and tell me what three games in the regular season you will be OK with losing? We're probably going to be favored in every game except Alabama.

Is this a serious question? Championships. He has to win at LEAST an SEC championship in that time.. Preferably a Natty. A bunch of 10-3 seasons won't cut it. We need to be contenders for the Natty on a regular basis.. That's the bar. I don't care if Radio is our head coach, the bar doesn't EVER change. Natty.

I wouldn't be satisfied by any means However, it would be an improvement over the last 3 years.

Again, with the money LSU is going to be paying him and his staff, you better believe an SEC title is expected in the next two years.
If he wasn't expected to improve beyond Miles, than why hire him. Alleva is taking the risk with O and that means O gets very little leeway at all. To me, if he goes worse than 9-3 in the regular season, he should be out and promote Aranda to head coach and also fire Alleva.

Just how many starters and other key players will be gone?
Yes, there is a lot of talent coming back, but a lot of it is relatively inexperienced...and there is still no knockout left tackle unless Okeke gets ready in a hurry.
O Line should be good, except LT, but we've seen them against 'Bama the last two years.
QB/RB/TE/WR should be good.
DL should be ok, but maybe not championship caliber. It's a mix of older guys who maybe haven't played as well as hoped and some young'uns who need to step up.
LB's are a big question mark. After Key, there are a lot of questions. Beckwith, Riley and Bower are through and nobody else played much. White did have a big play in the last game.
Secondary will lose some key people but should have some talent ready to step in.
It's way too optimistic to expect SECCG next year.

Already moving those goalposts for O.
There will be excuses for him like this every year.

If they get Briles + Stidham they could be very good next year. Haven't really been keeping track of who they're losing though.
Posted on 11/29/16 at 5:22 pm to SeekGreatness
I'm not moving the goal post for anybody, a-hole. I wouldn't expect Fisher, Herman or anyone else you want to suck to win, either.

Better question: What is the bar for Coach O in his first three season?
He needs to have the same expectations we would have under Miles. In 3 seasons, he needs to win an SEC championship.

ha ha ha. There is no way in hell that O will get anywhere close to going to Atlanta. The question should be will he be fired for his piss poor performance or will all the O lovers come out and try to save his job like they did for Miles. As long as Alleva is running this "3 ring" binder of circus O will not be fired. Get ready for 8-4 and 7-5 years.
