Can't say they made better hires without seeing their first 3 years at the program. That's just your opinion man.

No shite. The downpour of the crybabies would have been strong had Alleva hired Rhule.

I'd say hiring an unproven mid major guy who was successful in the mid majors is much less risky than hiring Coach O.

Example : Every school that's hired a successful mid-major coach, compared to the schools that wanted Coach O in the past few years.

Not really. Unproven mid majors stepping up work out a decent amount, when is the last time a coach as bad as O actually turned it around and was successful?

By that thinking everyone is equal until they start the job?

Past performance & previous experience can't be used as a metric when the intital hire is made?

I guess I could be a candidate to coach LSU if resumes and previous performance do Not matter.

Far superior to O's.

This is where the idiots start mentioning Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick.

I agree w OP. A joke of a hire for LSU. Not O's fault. So I don't hate him. Should of been a search across country after Fisher and Herman and that's after negotiating w Herman and trying to win his services.

Alleva is the cancer of LSU athletics.

1 good year and barely getting to 3 bowls and losing the bowl game. This board would be crying like they are now when Saban was hired.

Yeah, but neither were even close to as bad as O. Carroll went 6-10 with the NYJ one year, then was better than .500 in NE. BB was just under .500 in Cleveland. O never even came close to .500 at OM. Hell, the talent was there considering they went to the Cotton Bowl the next 2 years with Houston Nutt as coach.

Matt Rhule would not be a good hire for LSU. Seriously, I don't think he looks like a great hire for Baylor. I really like Jeff Brohm but his next job was at a place like Purdue not LSU although I could see someone make an argument for the hire unlike Rhule.

Dude, Saban was 34-24 at MSU, O was 10-25(3-21) at Ole Miss.

O has always been a top notch recruiter. He left Nutt great players. His problem was coaching. He has learned and has a 11-4 10-3 record after learning. But I guess we don't count those.

We hired a 11-4 coach in his last 2 head coaching jobs. Terrible.

there you go again with the fallacy that interim HC is the same as HC

not to mention ignoring his real HC experience at OM

basically O's resume is that he makes a very good Larry Coker
