Please note that I said...

I would not be the least bit surprised if he bolts for the NFL

Not that he would (and that even this was pure speculation).

It could well be what some others have posted (that he's burned out).

This is one of the many reasons why I am not a fan of Les Miles.

Agree - every year I see posts and talk that AL is losing 3 or 4 games but it never happens.
I also noticed something different about his demeanor last night that seemed off. Might be reading something into nothing though.

Something is going on with Saban for sure.

Dude was actually nice when talking with the reporter before the game and answered all her questions with detailed answers.

The mother fricker even smiled!

He gone..

Saban is not going anywhere. But when that kid got the taunting penalty wasn't chewed out, I was really surprised.

It is time to accept the fact that Nick Saban will retire at Alabama.

this.

saban is doing what few people do. realize their mistakes and grow from it. he's not going to the NFL and i doubt he goes anywhere else in college unless he wants another challenge.

most likely he'll retire at Bama. not great news for anyone else besides them really.

It didn't, IMO. In 2005, he looked totally disconnected and indifferent on the sideline, plus, it was an inconsequential bowl game to him. Last night he had everything to lose and was fired up from what I could see -- he was just out-coached.

Trust me, he wants more titles to add to his legacy and Bama is the easiest place to get that for him right now. If he had won it all this year, I could have seen retirement on the horizon soon for him. Having been humbled like he was last night when he really, really wanted it, he'll be back for a few years in attempt to silence any nay sayers.

omg, i would LOVE that. it would give me another reason to hate the falcons even more, as if that were possible. i also think he'll suck at it again.

Yes to last night's demeanor, no to bolt. That was Nick Saban ten years ago. He ain't going nowhere.

I honestly think he's just getting older and loosening up some (relatively). He's trying to enjoy the ride more, rather than being some maniacal hyper-focused freak.

How many times this year did he get on people in press conferences for being too down on the team? His legacy is set. He realizes there's more here than winning and losing and that overall, things are pretty peachy in t-town.

truth is, and i effing hate to say this, he did a great job in a year where Bama probably should've lost more than 1 game out of 13.
