It would violate Texas law for him to sign a contract. The job has to be posted legally before they can hire ANYONE.

Gradual Stroke-If you don't think Saban speaks with fork tongue as the indians say. Well I don't know what to tell you. Now I'm not saying he is going to Texas, truthfully I highly doubt it, but NEVER underestimate the fork tongue of Saban.

WTF? This was started by a Gump, Gump.

It's so funny the consistent insecurity and anger of Bama fans when people talk about their coach.

He's the best coach in college football, and there have been rumors of him making a change. People are going to talk about it. It's probably best to just deal with it or ignore it.

That's actually not correct. There's a fairly broad exception that basically says that the posting period can be dispensed with if the candidate has already been found. At least that is my understanding and I was surprised as anyone by it. Take it fwiw.

ETA - I don't believe Saban has signed anything for anyone at this point.

IF saban has already signed, would Texas then sue Texas?

If Saban has such a big ego, he would care how we is perceived. He wouldn't want to say "I absolutely am not going to Texas. They have a coach." and then immediately go to Texas. That would make him a snake-tongued liar. Which he is not.

Are you kidding? You obviously don't know Saban's history in these situations. He has repeatedly lied about his next moves.

Gradual Stroke, Not trying to pick a fight with you and certainly i doubt Saban is going to TExas but did you not see the interview when he was at the Dolphins about I will not be the next Head Coach at Alabama? Again, i doubt very seriously he goes to Texas and will probably be at Bama till he retires but to think he won't tell a White Lie is farfetched.

I highly doubt him going to texas, but you're being naive to history if you are basing him staying on what he has said to the media.

He's shown at least twice in the past to contradict himself.

If Saban had such a huge ego, he would think "it doesn't matter what I do, I'm still a god."

He doesn't care what anyone thinks, its whats best for business... and by business I mean himself.
