Potential DC candidate

Has anyone considered that our next DC is already on staff at LSU?
Bob Diaco served as Notre Dame DC under Kelly where he won the Broyles award. He's also had a few other stops as a DC.
With all the coaching changes going on, I think that if Kelly were bringing someone in, he'd have already done it. I just have a feeling that as long as this is taking, the decision has already been made and will be announced after ESD.

Why is everyone making such a big deal about the 2nd half. A&M had more yardage 200+ and scored 13 points vs 17 in the 1st half. A&M missed a FG and 2 pt conversion the 2nd half otherwise it's 18 points.

I think people are claiming Diaco and/or Kelly took matters into their own hands after that initial Aggy hot knife through butter drive of the 2nd half.
What are their stats after that? 6 points and a lot of stops.

He didn’t make any adjustments. After their QB got picked by Penn he started holding the ball longer which led to a few sacks. He lost confidence and became very indecisive.

I'm not saying I support making Diaco the new DC. In fact, I think Kelly could do a lot better.

Not really. I would be careful putting a lot of stock in an okay second half defensive performance against us if I were an LSU fan considering the situation. We struggled blocking Abilene Christian the week before. We are not a good football team.

Well i don't think Kelly will fire House and just promote Diaco. If he goes the fire House route i think he likely cleans house on that side of ball, no pun intended. On the other hand, if he retains House and brings in other position coaches, he can fire House anytime and promote Diaco to DC to finish the season.

I hope Kelly doesn’t use his “not hiring a d-line replacement’ as an excuse to keep House.
