Personally, I would like to bring in Scott Frost as our head coach.

Not yet. Let some other school take the risk with him for his rookie year as a HC. We need a proven veteran coach. Maybe put Frost in as an OC under the new veteran coach and hand it off similar to how Devaney did it with Osborne.

He called the AD office repeatedly but the brain dead AD wouldn't take his call.

The Utah coach did want the job.

The hire that this brain dead AD made will go down as one of the worst hires in college football history.

I know WIttingham wanted the job and would have taken it in a heartbeat, but Mullen? You have any proof?

There is nothing grand, or islandy about it.

Gunna take Nebraska a long time to climb back from this one.

Who's going to take this job? Come in and go 5-7 next year and these idiots will want to fire you and go again.

Meh, he's alright. I'd rather have Wittingham though.

I've visited Lincoln twice and Nebraska fans are some of the nicest fans I've ever encountered. That being said, these same fans operate under the belief that they should be the quality program they once were in the mid-1990's at the snap of a finger. Times have changed, Nebraska is stuck in the B1G West, no longer have a competitive footprint into Texas (with the emergence of Baylor, TCU, and A&M) or NoCal (with the emergence of Oregon), and are not in a talent-rich state to compensate. No recruits were alive the last time Nebraska won a National Championship. Most were still in diapers or just learned to walk the last time they won a conference championship. There has been no turnaround of Nebraska since it found itself as just another program that hovers around the Top-25. I have serious doubts that Nebraska ever finds its way back into the thick of things like other proud programs have. Personally think Nebraska fans need to temper expectations.

Nebraska needs to call up A&M and/or Houston and get a 10 year home and home signed ASAP and then fill out their OOC schedule with 2 for 1s with the smaller Texas schools (i.e. UTEP, North Texas, SMU, UTSA, Texas State). That way they can play atleast one game in the state of Texas every year. That would allow them to recruit Texas just like they did when they were in the Big12.

This football coach was taken in at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln eleven months ago, saved from a sad situation in Corvallis, OR. We assumed that, given a better, more luxurious home, he would adapt to his surroundings and thrive in his new environment. This hasn't been the case. It's now clear that a larger home with greater responsibilities is not the place for him. He would be better off with a gentler home where less is expected of him.

Despite his failures during his time in Nebraska, he is still unbelievably nice (almost to a fault). No matter what the situation, he can be seen with a smile, whether that's what you want from him or not. He is kind and calm, and won't disrupt you or upset anyone in charge of him with his behavior. That's why we brought him in in the first place (his predecessor had behavioral issues that no one could solve).

We believe if brought to a quaint, humble home he would be a beloved addition. His demeanor will convince you that everything will be okay with him around (the effect may wear off after ~8 months). But we are more than willing to give him away if anyone would like to take him.

P.S. If interested, we may also be able to come to a deal on an athletic director in a similar situation.

Why would a coach go to Nebraska? They fired two guys who won over 70% of their games, and they're talking about canning a guy before he finishes his first season.

Because our Chancellor hats the football program and is trying to destroy it. He is out the door this summer though and we will have a new Chancellor.

Our current Chancellor hired an AD to fire solich and then he ran Tom Osborne out of the door from the AD job and the Chancellor hired an AD, the current one, to fire Tom's hire, Bo Pelini.

Now the Chancellor is going to give an extension to the AD that hired an old fart head coach with a losing past and is so dumb he passes the ball 55 times against one of the nations worst rushing defenses and of course only has 3 wins on the season and will get destroyed by Michigan State this weekend.

Once we bring in the new Channcelor we will fire the AD and then fire Riley after he wins 3 or 4 games next season.

It still makes no sense why Harvey hates the athletic program so much. I mean it brings in a ton of money for him to build stupid shite all over campus that we don't need like the new CBA building when the old one is just fine. He reminds me of that nerdy little dipshit in HS who hated sports because he was always picked last.

Good riddance that he's gone.

The best part was when he compared Mike Riley to Tom Osborne.

Just came back to remind you that your program isn't as good as it was 20 years ago.

Carry on. Loving the laughs.
