SE is pretty much already fired. There was a "secret" meeting yesterday between two big dooners, the Chancellor and SE.

If SE gets fired before the new Chancellor comes in, it will be from the President.

Thank God for that. Maybe have Tom Osborne weigh in on the new AD hire as well. Harvey should have zero input. He hired Steve Pederson and that was a nightmare, and now he snuck being TO's back to hire this fricking incompetent ginger.

I already can't stand Harvey on how he runs UNL. We have a perfectly good CBA building and he is building a new one. Its stupid, oh and for what my tuition to go up along with higher parking permit costs?

It's not necessarily "fair" but once you know there is no way the current HC is your future, there is no reason to keep him. Fire the coach and AD, and start over with someone who at least gives you hope. Same thing Texas should do.

The problem is that takes a while. First you have to fire the AD, or the same guy will just hire another failure coach. Then once the AD is replaced that AD can hire their choice of coach.

Riley will be around in 2016, who knows if the AD will be.

Nebraska can be back to where they were when you consider they are in the Big Ten West. If freaking Iowa can be undefeated and in the top 10 then Nebraska with better resources and a better brand should be.

They won big in the old Big 8 with no Texas connection. They can still recruit well in places like Louisiana, Texas, and California and New Jersey.

Completely agree.

The Big Ten West might be the worst division in P5 college football, and Nebraska gets to play Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois, Minnesota and Purdue every year.

There's absolutely no reason they should've win 8-10 games every year and own that division.

In their winningest days the program utilized a combo of Los Angeles talent and an semi-illegal walkon system that allowed them to skirt scholarship restrictions.

In the time since Nebraska was a power the entire country got more exposure for themselves (minimizing the effect of Nebraska's brand) and more money for themselves (which took away their facility advantage). We have also seen kids want to stay close to home to compete if possible which cut off their Cali and Texas pipelines.

The program basically died when it fired Solich. That story is a warning story for other programs (much like SMU's death penalty) for a reason. The nine wins they got under big nose was probably just slightly above what they should expect to achieve as a Big 10 program. The fact that he got fired for hot having enough success turned the entire situation into a comedy movie. The Mike Riley hire (aka the biggest WTF since Dooley) was just more wood on the fire.

Yup. It was all over sports radio here. Apparently he would have had to pay Wittingham about $1 mil more than Riley. Well now they are gonna have to buyout Riley for that same amount.

Another brilliant move done mostly by Harvey Perlman. Yes the fans share part of that blame but Harvey was the one who finished it.

I sure hope he isn't. Finishing 3-9 with the talent they have is unacceptable. He has to be fired. As does the AD.

Oh Nebraska fans thinking they are better than a 9-4 football team.

Good luck with that.

frick. I wish I was born earlier so I can fully remember Nebraska's dominance. All I remember is 1997 through now which was OK until around 2002-2003 and then Callahan ruined my childhood and now Riley is bringing back those terrors I went through growing up.

Bet you loved it when they fired Pelini though. That program will never recover.

Sad you chased the BIG TEN $$$$ instead of staying in your lane.
