By saying Herman or Jimbo were never coming here.

That is no excuse for Alleva's lazy, failure of a coaching search. If this is true and he had no shot at his top two targets, than he should be held responsible for having an unrealistic plan to begin with. They should have never been his top two targets if he wasn't ready to spend money or negotiate. He has once again embarrassed LSU on a national scale and damaged our brand. I have accepted the Orgeron hire and I hope he does well, however no matter how successful he is you will never convince me that Alleva did the best he could for LSU in this pivotal hire.

Has he ever made a good hire in his entire career?

The O crowd throws out the "they were never coming here anyway" line all the time. It's like they just accept defeat. This coaching search was a defeat.

Once again, this is not a shot at Orgeron. If he wasn't prepared to pay or negotiate for his top two targets, than he should've hired Orgeron after Arkansas and saved LSU the embarrassment of the perception of striking out on who they wanted.

I haven't seen anyone on TD make excuses for him, matter of fact most people are railing on him "because it is warranted" and think he should be fired. I know I am going to rail on Alleva and our resident convicted felon on staff Derek Pomansky.

I disagree. A lot of people are bailing him out saying it's not his fault that he couldn't land Jimbo or Herman.

Not any major hire that I am aware of. He's turned both basketball teams who both had final four appearances just before he arrived into messes as well with bad hires.

You people are unbelievable. Has the team improved since O took over? Did you have a wish to see this entire staff with their families gone? Did you have phone taps and hall monitors to see and hear exactly who he spoke to each day? Just give it a rest and if it does not work then bitch! No one has a crystal ball to know. Even Alabama went through a few coaches before they grabbed Saban.

Sad truth spoken right there. I wish we could say that he had made his last bad hire, but I have a feeling he'll be the one to hire the next men's bball coach at the very least.

And you can bet they will be another Temple/Brown BBQ buddy. I only hope if it must go this way it's Randy Livingston. I believe his coaching ability is light years ahead of JJ.
