lprimo, need to add Billy Gonzeles...he is definitely as much of a candidate as anyone else on your list...

I think he gets it Chicken. There is a reason he came here and it wasn't just to bail on Urbs. I think there were some understood notions and this was one of them.

Belowpar said Miles was intrigued by the idea of Leach about a month or so ago, so who knows?

if it's a Leach type offense we want, go get Lincoln Riley. Leach without the baggage.

That's why I think it's Steve Logan - he's been a QB coach in the past. His small LSU connection - Coached Rohan Davey while at NFL Europe... Pro style offense and understands what a HC has to go through. Would be a solid choice IMO.

Replace Crowton and "his" gimmicky spread offense with more of a pro-style offense that Miles wants to run and becomes more of a CEO style head coach. He needs to bring in people he can trust. I would love for him to "get the band back together" by bringing back Monken and Henson.

The offense needs to return to more of a Pro-Style system. More like we saw in the Cotton Bowl . . .
1) Steve Logan (good QB coach, rumors were going around that he was the front-runner if he replaced Crowton last year)

2) Todd Monken (IMO, the best position coach LSU has had in a long time. Miles trusts him. Was heavily involved in all of Miles successful offenses in the past. Was heavily, heavily involved in the success of the offense at the end of the 2006 season, he was basically running the offense. Miles should have promoted him instead of hiring Crowton.)

3) Mark Whipple (now available, good friends with Ruffin Rodrigue)
4) Steve Kragthorpe (good qb coach)
5) Greg Knapp
6) Rob Chudzinski
7) Clint Conque

OLINE COACH
Here is my list:

1) Art Kehoe (regarded as a o-line coaching guru)
2) Josh Henson (bring back the right-hand-man, clock manager, good recruiter)
3) Pete Mangurian (LSU alumni, former LSU coach, tons of NFL experience)
4) Tony Wise (lots of NFL and college experience)
5) Blake Miller (former LSU player, has some college experience now)
6) Chris Truax (former LSU player, college experience, recruiting coordinator)
6) Ben Wilkerson (promote him)

I didn't realize that. That makes me think even more that he's the leading guy.

as a couple of posters stated, the key will be hiring a good OC who has the same philosophy as Miles. I do not think this can be overstated. If not, we could end up with nearly the same struggles we have seen the last couple of years.

Ok, CRAZY SUGGESTION!!!!

Butler Community College head coach - TROY MORRELL! He has been an O-line coach, O-coordinator, etc. Z.M. is obviously familiar with his system, and would be comfortable with him. Dude's salary WITH INCENTIVES is $65k. Just an out the box suggestion!

Coach Morrell, having finished his 11th year as head coach and
his 15th overall at Butler Community College, has become the standard by which other junior college coaches are judged. Morrell has led Butler to an overall record of 115-15 (.885), the highest all-time Region VI winning percentage for a coach, and a Jayhawk Conference record of 73-4 (.948). In the Region VI playoffs, Morrell's teams have been nearly unbeatable, compiling a record of 24-3 (.889). Morrell has led Butler to three national championships, including back-to-back national titles in 2007 and 2008. No other coach has led a program to back-to-back national titles twice, as the Grizzlies have done in 1998 and 1999, as well as 2007 and 2008. Morrell also guided the Grizzlies to the NJCAA and JC Gridwire titles in 2003 with another perfect 12-0 record, while playing in three other national title games (2001, 2004 and 2010). Morrell has ended the season playing for a title every other season (six times in 11 years).

Billy G would try to run the spread which as not worked here at LSU, I would not hire him for OC and who cares if he leaves another sticky note.

Shaw

My only concern with Shaw is that he's the running backs coach, not the QB coach. I'm sure he had something to do with Luck, but we really need to hit a home run with someone who has a proven track record of developing college QBs.

Has he been hired by someone? UCONN?
Just heard he was friends with some former LSU players.
