HC-O $2.5M/YR
DC-Aranda $2M/YR
OC-TBD $1.5M/YR

Keeping O will allow LSU to attract and keep the very best coordinators. That's $6M for the 3 as opposed to $6M-$7M for Jimbo.

Dan Mullen is the lowest paid HC in the SEC west. 4.2 million. You get what you pay for...

You obviously don't have "sources".

Dan Mullens is also at State. Sure he hasn't done great things there but not many would. Dan Mullens is Tom Herman's ceiling as a coach. Mullens would do better at LSU than Herman imo. I don't want to overpay for Jimbo or Herman.

Just because you pay more for a coach doesn't mean you're going to get more. If Jimbo is asking North of 6 mil, I wouldn't want that deal, especially if he brings in another DC.

I think Jimbo has to get back in the lab as most of his opponents seem to play his offense well without Winston. OC is all our team is lacking. O has been great at running this program. If he can lock up a great OC that can run spread and power sets, that's all this staff is missing.

You will not get anybody for that... even O.

You might want to do some SEC HC salary research.

Can't pay our HC less than $3.5mil per year and probably more like $4.5mil a year. it will say we settled!!!

Also we keep Raymond and Craig.

Go over and look at the guys on the staff at FSU no connection at all to La. High school coaches and julukka (sorry about spelling) he is great for New Orleans kids.

Youre right. Why pay one of the best coaches in the nation 6 when O will do it for 2.5.

But hear me out here. Why pay O 2.5 when I will do it for free.

The very best coordinators don't stay at jobs for long

I think it's idiotic to pay anyone outside of Saban, Harbaugh, or Meyer close to 7 mil or higher. If Jimbo doesn't want to be here for 6 mil, so be it. He just lost to another candidate, Larry Fedora, with a much more talented team than FSU.

People are giving the head coaches too much credit for these offenses. I get it. People here are desperate for offense, but Jimbo's offense is nothing new and teams have him figured out for the most part. If he doesn't have a Winston, his record is worse than CLM.

I think O could be enticed to stay for less than 3 mil with performance incentives, if allowed to go for a top notch OC and keep Aranda.

Might want to do some research into what head coaches make: 2016 NCAA head coach salaries

At $2.5 million, that would be the 2nd lowest salary for any HC in the SEC, only ahead of Mizzou and would be 46th nationally based on this year's salaries.

You got a plan for all that money we would be saving?

I wasn't aware saving money was part of our goal.

This implies his record, which is very good, isn't enough yet you are ready to give the job over to the DL coach and hope he gets the best O coordinator. Makes a lot of sense.....

If nothing else, the mental gymnastics that posters on here are having to do to justify hiring O is pretty entertaining

I know the site runs off of clicks and page views, but holy shite Chicken and Co. need to do a round of culling with some of these posters.
