Has been the associate hc defense / recruiting coordinator / lb coach for USC the past two years. Has also served as a LB coach for Washington and Tennessee.

Out of left field. Not sure if it is bs or not.

So...not true or what? Just from looking around it seems like he is also a candidate for the Oregon job.

I have no idea. He was absolutely terrible at USC though. I haven't heard anyone that wants him retained as a LB coach let alone as a DC.

Lindsey Thiry is saying this is happening. Insane. Prayers sent MSU.

USC linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator Peter Sirmon is set to be named the defensive coordinator at Mississippi State.

People are saying that he may be co-dc. Guess we will wait and see. Sirmon will leave in two years to be the DC for Florida State to complete the Florida trifecta.

He was a pretty good LB coach and recruiter for UW.

No idea why MSU would reach like that and make him their DC though. They couldn't find someone more qualified?

Mullens previous hires have been pretty light on DC experience as well. This is definitely the lightest though.

That's not what your 24/7 board is saying. I'm sure you are a member there so why don't you go correct them?

It's not going to be Sirmon who leaves, it's going to be Buckley, who played for Florida State.

Not sure if you know, but he just got hired a week ago at State. If he leaves, it will be a few years. He is from Mississippi after all.

Scuttlebutt was that Pellum would retire and he'd coach OLBs. Our fanebase would've skewered Helfrich for hiring him as a DC. We want a proven DC.

Didn't realize he'd gotten into coaching, he was a great linebacker for TN.
