Was it the fact that he wasn't a good coach or that he had been the interim DC and didn't want to go back to LB coach?

USC ran a 3-4 for the most part. Up in Washington they were more multiple. I am not sure if he was at Tennessee when they ran the 3-4 but that would be my guess.
