Coach O was offended to some degree that his priorities were ignored by Canada. This all eventually bubbled up and manifested itself in a parting of the ways. Coach E has a vulcan mind link with Orgeron and will be able to ensure that those priorities are communicated to the new OC without Coach O hovering over the Offense.

Agreed, I basically said this in another thread.

Wow, a civil disagreement on a likely outcome without resorting to name calling.

Maybe we can be an example of how people can bring information together and solve the puzzle!

TBL What do you think about the 247 report that Gilbert has not interviewed.

SIAP because this is already a long thread and I've forgotten half of what I read on the way...

But, if LSU is trying to lure in Gilbert as a "co-OC", then honestly we just might as well hire Ensminger for the full-time OC position. Reason? When it comes down to it, everyone on here knows inside their heart that Orgeron would be letting Ensminger run the show on offense. So Gilbert would be basically an overpaid, glorified position coach who would double as the fall guy, and help to absorb the blame if/when Ensminger's offense didn't pan out again.

Gilbert would ultimately be the scapegoat that would save Orgeron and Alleva's jobs (in their way of thinking anyway). I can't see any reasonable human being with a proven, winning reputation as an OC, leaving a full-time OC job to come to LSU to become the co-OC with a guy who is one of the "good ol boys". So in my mind, the co-OC stuff being flooded out their is either complete BS, or it's an unacceptable demand that will give the public the impression that at least LSU tried and were turned down by multiple candidates before they ultimately hired their guy, Ensminger.

Not gonna happen much here. Rantards don't have to be accountable to anyone for what they say.

No reason to call names without being provoked first.

My dilemma is this. There is of course the buzzing in my ear that its Ensminger.

But this administration, should they go through with it would be a laughingstock. O would lose the fans he hasnt lost already. Aranda would be the reason we stayed in games.

Gilbert is there. How do you pick Ensminger?

Orgeron is once again showing his ignorance with this CO- coordinator thing. We tried it in 08 with Malveto. That was a disaster.

It would make more sense to pair a guy like Sonny Cumbie with Ensminger, because Cumbie has never been a sole OC.

I don't like the idea of Gilbert with Ensminger as co-OC. Maybe Ensminger as passing game coordinator, like I said before.

re: Update: Morning Report to My evening ReportPosted on 1/6/18 at 10:14 pm to AnonymousTigerFan Sully is a legend and an amazing coach. It could work with him as Passing coordinator. It really could work but it is just not a motivating move and doesnt see like a long term move. Alot like Jenkins move at DL coach. O like haveing that veteran coach with him. O wants Sully in a bigger role. With McMahon the likely special teams coach and Aranda getting his safety’s coach, that leaves at one spot open. The only move would be to fire Joseph but he McMahon the likely special teams coach and Aranda getting his safeties coach, that leaves one spot open. The only move would be to fire Joseph but That does not seem likely. Joseph will likely be the TE coach next year. I would prefer Sully being part of the shadow staff and just advising though or fire Joseph. But Nola coaches need “their guy” on staff. No forward thinking at all!

Idk- I don't read 247. I Never said he was interviewed yet. I just said he is getting real consideration.

I don't understand this whole smoke screen theory. So they are trying to quiet the storm of fan criticism by floating names ultimately only to do what they wanted from the beginning?

So what good is that? It temporarily slows the criticism but would make it even worse when they actually hire Ensminger. Like pulling the rug out...aka like what they did with Ogre.

I have been saying this. I reported this last night.

No, I know and I wasn’t trying to say I knew something that you didn’t. This is probably the first time I have ever had any “inside” info (and realistically it was nothing more than you have already said). The person whom it came from is about as close to the situation as is humanly possible. SE said he was going to be announced tomorrow. So I guess I was saying that I have 100% confidence in what you are saying as correct. Not that I didn’t before, but you get the point.

Bingo. This is what all message board "insiders" do. they get the same bad info we all do but their info comes from someone who gives a reasonable amount of money to TAF so they think it's going to be more credible. Fact is, there are probably a handful of people that have the real scoop and none of them are leaking info to TD posters

You're not inherently wrong. I'll give credit where credit is due, however. Unlike last year with DALSU, no one this year is saying, "Done deal, unless something changes." Most everyone claiming inside sources has, for the most part, stated that it's a fluid situation.

I want to believe the sources talking about anyone but Ensminger, but like a lot of people I'm on the pessimistic side of believing this is all CYA by the dept. and Ensminger will ultimately be hired without anyone else ever being seriously considered.

It was right there in the announcement that Canada was leaving. In Orgeron's own words, they're looking for someone "totally committed to the vision of the program." Gone are the days of "recruiting the best offensive coordinator in football and bring him to LSU."

You are trying really hard.

Youve already told us all that youve sat places we wish we could and that you know things we wish we knew.

Who will the OC be? Please, tell us.

I don't think it's smoke screening. I think we have a bunch of people involved with LSU football pulling in different directions, out for themselves, instead of everyone pulling in the same direction.

Or it could mean they have a plan they like but are doing their due diligence by interviewing other candidates as well. It doesn't have to be a cynical reason, you know? I realize it's always a big conspiracy theory with Tiger fans, but not everything is a conspiracy.

I'll admit it's cynical, but its difficult to envision a scenario where an actual search takes place and Ensminger is the best choice available. Not with the money LSU has committed time and again to it's assistant coaches.
