Jim, in case you are lurking, don't you wanna compete against your brother like the good ole days? John isn't coaching Ohio State anytime soon you know.

RichRod hasn't been fired yet, but they won't announce that until after the Orange Bowl (probably Tuesday).

If there is even a chance at landing Harbaugh - which there definitely is - there's no way they're going to screw it up by announcing RichRod's firing before Stanford plays and risk pissing Harbaugh off (distraction for Stanford, etc).

RichRod will be let go Tuesday or Wednesday, Harbaugh will be offered. If he passes - most likely privately not publicly - then Michigan will hire either Hoke or Miles...one of the three will take the job, no question in my mind.

as long as Les hires a good OC and stays the frick out of the offense, we're all happy. Well, the smart ones are at least.

who else is available? Leach? Sweet. LSU won't hire him as a head coach. Who else..?

Although Harbaugh definitely may take the Michigan job, it almost seems like there is too much risk involved.

Obviously, he can get an NFL job NOW ... you can bounce around in the NFL as HC and OC as long as you want probably once you are there, not to mention make more money doing so. Even if he wasn't successful as a HC in the pros, there's no question he could come back to college and get a premier job even with NFL failure as HC.

While his stock could certainly rise at Michigan, there is a huge risk that his stock will fall as he's taking over a train-wreck. It could effectively be a premier job head-coaching career killer for Harbaugh at Michigan.

All that said, I think Harbaugh will be successful wherever he goes, including Michigan. But there's certainly a lot of risk at UM, and a lot less in the NFL IMO for him.

how many of you really want miles gone? i sure dont with a competent OC we could be a NC contender. i know it sounds great to get a new coach but he has kept a clean program and still is winning

this is what I'm saying. Very few guys are going to leave this late in the recruiting season.

Not much talent on D at all and the story is that a lot of Rich Rod's recruits couldn't get recruits qualified there like they could at WVU. I guess that's an appeal for Michigan in Harbaugh upon the many positives.

That board is meltdown central right now, lots of worthless posts to sift through.

I have a feeling that if Miles were to take the Michigan job, LSU would end up with Tubbs.

Not saying he's my pick or even on my short list, but realistically I have a gut feeling that's who we'd end up with after being told no by Saban/Gruden/Patterson.

I'd love to see Sarkisian in LSU purple, though.

If Miles leaves, I'd go down the following list til one says yes:

1. Saban
2. Harbaugh, lol, ironic
3. Gruden
4. Patterson
5. Peterson
6. Sarkisian

-don't know who the hell you go after following those guys (Tubbs, Art Briles, Pelini...???)
