I wonder why so many people from Denham and Live Oak are concerned with the Walker coaching job.

I could care less who coaches walker, or live oak for that matter. I was just saying that politics runs pretty much every school in the LP. They are still stuck in the good ole boy mindset.

Hmm I moved just outside Walker a year ago. Is politics really that much involved in that school? I would have never guessed it.

The only shite I see like that in Walker is the stupid alcohol ordinances which were at least relieved some. Havent had kids yet to add to the talent pool yet though.

I don't know Coach Todd personally but wasn't Mike Todd at Denham Springs for 15 years, if he was a great coach why did'nt DS hire him, or for that matter hire him now. If I had a kid playing I would have disapointed in the program.

I would think the Principal at Walker High would have more to do than to create a new user account just to defend his decision on TD.

Ok, I'll just say that I played at walker from '05-'08. After my sophmore year they fired John Guerin. Our principle at the time hired a long time friend of his over our Defensive Coordinator of 12 years who was 10x the "Head Coach" material than the guy who was hired. Also, our principles son was the starting QB for Denham Springs. Yes, you read that correctly. Our ex D-CO went on to Independence and led them to the dome. Then took a St. Helena Central team and turned them into a way better team than they should have been. He's now the Defensive Coordinator for the Bastrop Rams. So yes, Politics is the "cancer" of Walker High.

Walker does produce a shitload of talent but within the last 10 years Parents, Students, & even Faculty have lost trust in the Football program. I suffered through 2 0-10 seasons, and even though it killed me. I still experienced adversity & have grown from it. At the end of my Sr. Year we had 25 players going into the last game. IDC who you have on your team, you will not win in 5A Louisiana Football. I did manage to earn 2nd team all district for offense & defense that year haha

I'm glad Mike is gone. He may be a decent coach, but his attitude towards others, especially his team--sucks. He's only out for himself and his son. No way do I blame his son for the situation he was put in. I honestly feel sorry for the kid. However, there were other kids on the team, that if they had been able to practice at the quarterback position, would have done a hell of a job. To those of you out there trying to guess what happened, don't bother. The firing was deserved.

The thing is that walker does not want to be like Denham the school board wants them to be. I played from 99-01 and went 25-7, we would have beat the brakes off of Denham when I played and they got my head coach outta there and started bringing in Denham coaches that we didnt want. Coach Todd is a good coach but when you don't reach out to the community to get the athletes to play that you need to win in 5a. As well as play a quarterback that was a plus 10 on interception to touchdown ratio that happens to be your son you have to make a change. The right guy has to have been around the program or from the area will get this thing back on track this program will never be a 8-10 wins a season but it can compete and not lose by 40 points 6 of their 10 games. The main thing is to get all the kids out there to play and play hard they might be undersized but work ethic and heart can win some games. I went to 4 games this year and was just disgusted by the amount on the sideline as well as the way the boys were coached. There was in my opinion to much support for what was out there, we diddn't have that much support and a booster club when I played. I also didn't realize that there were so many Walker posters on this board.

You know there is more that goes into to a QB pass rating than just what the QB does.

The game I watched Walker play I was amazed at how bad their Oline was. QB had zero time to throw the ball and I mean ZERO.

I am not even sure why I am responding to this thread because I could really give a sh!t if Walker is good or not. I don't live there..

Interception to Touchdown ratio would mean he had 20 interceptions to 2 TD's.

Maybe he had a +10 margin of interceptions to TD's.

10:1 is some Lynn Amedee play-calling! Run the ball!!

That has nothing to do with coaching?

You are correct, most people on this board don't have a clue what's going on in Walker. When it's that bad, it's time to make a change.
