walker's problem is that they want to be on a level with the denham type programs, but they'll never make it happen with the talent pool in walker

IMO at 4A they would compete locally but they just don't quite have the student makeup to achieve success locally at 5A yet...

10 years from now as the area grows? Possibly. The key is for the politics and back room bs to get shutdown but as an area grows that will fade away.

there are some talented kids in their youth leagues. my son plays on the renegade C team for football. as i watch the games of all levels it appears the coaching gets worse as the kids get older. their 12yo football team has not won a game in years, granted there were approximately only 20-25 kids on the team. i have watched them practice and several times they had less than fifteen kids practicing. the kids get frustrated with losing and quit playing sports.

for walker to succeed in sports a total different mind set has to take place with the kids, coaches, parents and political folks.

I'll say this, and you are correct but the guy they just got rid of was doing things the right way and was building things, he is highly thought of in coaching circles.

Your correct though the mindset out there has to change.

Asst Coaches get paid between 8-12k less than in EBR...

+1 on attitudes have to change in Walker if they want a half way winning program. Mike Todd was a good coach and I really don't see Walker doing any better than him but who knows.

I tell you what if I were a high school coach I wouldn't go there the way the community and administration treated coach Todd and especially his son...

i dont know about all that. my kid that age is baseball, thats how i know about their coach. i do know that some people i respect regarding football have not been happy over the years.

people might not believe this but so be it. there are some serious athletes in the younger ages. hell, my sons team won "super bowl" this year. there are at least three kids on that team that we will be talking about on the recruiting board years to come.

i dont really know what needs to be done but a few of us are trying.

If walker is anything like live oak was when I played there, the school and athletic dept is overrun with politics. It gets very frustrating

no gripes at all. live oak politics ran him off, walker hired him. good move on walker's part.

I was hoping the relatively new administration at Live Oak would clean things up from the Curtis days.

Disappointing...

Hire Curley Hallman and don't look back," Joe Dean.

There's no way in hell Sid's that desperate to be a head coach again. Outside of some of Baton Rouge inner city jobs that has to be the one with the least amount of chance to succeed because Mike Todd is a good coach.
