Gus would have to do like Chip Kelly did and hire a legit OC with NFL experience... combining shurmur with kelly has been awesome.

would be awesome... Johnny barking out play number "4" while overlooking the steelers defense... what could go wrong?...

I know Cleveland is run by a bunch of morons, but even they wouldn't be stupid enough to have genuine interest in Malzahn and his limited resume.

Because as we've all heard for weeks, Auburn is a couple of lucky plays from being 0-12 this season

Couldn't be more wrong here. I love Gus and his offense but there is no intermediate passing game to speak of. Lots of vertical stuff and screens but not much in the 10-15 yrd range. Rarely runs slants

In his defense though who among those qb's was considered a solid passer? Noodle arm Chris Todd? The biggest knock on Cam was his passing ability which steadily got better as the season went on.. Frazier and Moseley didn't exactly scare anyone with their passing abilities either. Marshall has been solid, but it's obvious he has a lot of work to do in regards to his passing game.

I guess my point is that it's hard to have to good intermediate passing game when you look at the abilities of the qb's he has worked with. Vertical routes and screens and pretty safe as far as passing plays goes.

Read Malzahn's own writing about his offense. The importance of an intermediate passing game is relative I guess (we'd need Gus to tell us), but the idea that his theoretical offense doesn't incorporate it is simply wrong.

How that has been implemented at Auburn is a different discussion, but the idea that it isn't part of Malzahn's own vision for his offense is incorrect.

The Washington Redskins are thankful that Cleveland and Oakland exist, so they never have to worry about being the most fricked up dumpster fire in the NFL.

Well either way, they're just trying to give themselves a false sense of hope that their school isn't a stepping stone

Not Cleveland, and not according to Jeremy Fowler:

quote:

Still, would be mildly surprised – no, shocked – if Malzahn left Auburn for Cleveland. Just isn't a better move for him. Coach speak is hard to decipher, but Malzahn says he's “tickled to death” to be on the Plains and calls his recent contract extension a true commitment to the school.

Plus, Auburn's a better job.
