The offense was terrible, and only part of it had to do with QB play. Playcalling and offensive philosophy is a major negative with this team. There's no reason that a team with the kind of talent that they have should be scoring 38ppg, especially when you consider defensive and special team scoring plays.

Alabama was able to do what they did in those two games because they didn't respect LSU's playcalling. They knew what LSU was going to run and shut that down. Most of the success LSU has had in the past few years against Bama has been when they did something they weren't expecting.

Offensive line coaches are rarely ever good offensive coordinators. They are rarely creative and like to run the ball.

Good lord man, the LSU offense against Bama in the first game wasn't great but it wasn't the atrocity we saw in the first half of the UGA game or the BCS NCG. They outrushed Bama comfortably and took physical control of the game as it got further along. That was a tremendous Bama defense LSU had success running the ball on

But yes, 6 of the last 8 quarters of LSU's offense this year were horrible

Anyway, regarding the thread title I doubt there will be major changes to the offensive staff this year.

Are you idiots the same ones that were ripping Pelini in his first year? We were #12 in scoring offense and #8 in offensive touchdowns.

I want to agree with this. But considering LSU recruited Jerrard Randall (a dual threat), and is looking to fill Gunner Kiel's spot with one of three other dual threat recruits, I can't help but think that Miles is going to stick with switching back and forth between a pure passer and a dual threat. Why else would he continue to recruit both types? Dunno.

Because it's hard to find a quarterback to come to LSU. We just aren't in a good position right now. The places that have numerous QBs: Florida and Texas are basically closed off to us. We haven't been able to recruit Florida and Texas for awhile now, and with BG leaving, Florida will be even worse. Until we can do some recruiting work in Texas, we are going to be grasping at QB straws every year. And with the Kiel situation you saw how hard it is to get a big name signal caller to come half way across the country. We are just grasping at straws in QB recruiting.

You must have no clue about Studs history. Way to try and make some big post and try to sound smart. When he was with Urban he ran a spread, incredibly different from your claim that O-line coaches rarely make good coordinators and just run the ball. I guess that's why the Rams wanted to interview Saints Oline Coach Kromer for head man. And for the record what IDIOT would not run the ball with these backs. Give him another shot before you fair-weather fans rip him. If we won the NC y'all are all over Studs jock.

Miles has wanted to make Stud the OC for a long time because he knows what he is capable of with a decent QB, but he knew dumbass fans like you would have a fit that we didn't hire Dana Holgerson or Brian Kelly. There's a reason Urban wanted him at Ohio State.
