Ranked 105th in passing

I say this was the result of JJ not being able to throw a football out of a boat and hit water.

Not Stud's fault.

Stud did alright with Lee running the O. He will have the same situation next year as far as play calling. The RB will be stronger and better.

the offense was limited but very effective until the end of hte year. there were moments of real promise of a real passing game in teh first half of the season but the first half of that UGA game revealed how bad things can quickly get if you have no credible balance (in spite of a really quality running game - one of the best in the country)

I really believe while Crowton was OC Miles slowely worked his way into this offense. I think Jimbo and Crowton where given a lot of control in the beginning but Crowton cost use some games with his style of offense and complexity. Miles then decided to step in more and more until the Tenn. game where it all came to a head. I think Miles knows as long as he recruits well and plays conservative style LSU can win 10 games most years. The only problem he didn't factor in was losing recruits from such a bland style and having to face teams with equal talent.

As long as Miles is the head coach at LSU the offense will look the same. Miles is the OC of LSU.

His offense was horrible with Jefferson in the game cause they didn't mesh. The offense was fine with Lee.

So glad Mett, a pocket passer, will be the QB in '12

I hope so, but we only played 2 good defenses all year, Bama twice and Georgia. Georgia halted us until we ran them down, and Alabama shut us down both times.
I'm nervous we're going to be looking for another OC next year.

The offensiv personel we have just aren't meant for a spread option offense that we run with Jefferson.

Well, we couldn't throw the ball vs Georgia, and we couldn't throw the ball vs Bama. I'm not surprised we couldn't run the ball vs either team (except in the 2nd half vs Georgia). Put Lee in there and I'd be willing to bet the numbers look different.

If I'm not mistaken, we had less than 100 yards passing combined in our final two games.

Based on how long it took to get rid of Croton, he'll be around a lot longer. Especially after the brilliant game plan for the BCS title.

How can any of you not still blame JJ/JL for the offensive woes?

For the first 8 games of the 2011 season, I loved our offense, you know, the one Stud called. Then that other qb game in and Miles took over.

With Met, we return to an offense like the first 8 games. Believe it.

I'd give Miles, his butt boy Porter, Stud, Krag, and Ensminger for HOKE. Today.

Please tell me Porter is coming back. We need some recruiting help in the worst way.

Porter is a terrible X and O coach and his players didn't like him and he supposedly doesn't get along with Frank.

Leave Larry alone.

I want to agree with this. But considering LSU recruited Jerrard Randall (a dual threat), and is looking to fill Gunner Kiel's spot with one of three other dual threat recruits, I can't help but think that Miles is going to stick with switching back and forth between a pure passer and a dual threat. Why else would he continue to recruit both types? Dunno.
