The source said a perturbed Alleva told Herman’s agent, Trace Armstrong, via phone Friday night, “Don’t worry. I have a guy who wants the job.” Ed Orgeron will be introduced as LSU’s new coach at a news conference Saturday.

like a scorned little girl Joe grabbed his ball and went home.

If Alleva couldn't trust Herman's word, the relationship would never work.

If a potential employer is trying to fricking strongarm me and gets pissed that I'm weighing all my options before making a live altering decision then it's a pretty good sign that I'm going to go anywhere but that company.

Seriously this is fricking amateur hour.

if Alleva had balls he would have let him talk to Texas.

the man was about to make a life altering decision. I would question his intelligence if he didn't view all his options before jumping in.

let him talk to Texas and see where it goes from there.

if it becomes a bidding war, then duck out.

but we walked away from the table befor the cars were even dealt.
and bragged about quitting the game.

Then why agree to something if you are waiting for something else. Just don't agree to anything.

What if Les told Leonard Fournette that he wanted a commitment within 24 hours of meeting with him the first time and then pulled the offer after learning that Leonard MAY want to take an official visit to bama or any other school?

Would that have been cool with you? Would that have been an acceptable recruiting tactic?

Herman is a grown arse man. Don't verbally make a deal then back out. If he wanted Texas, he should have told Alleva no deal until I am ready

That's not how this works. It's never worked that way before. It doesn't work that way now. It won't ever work that way in the future.

Alleva either knows this and got his feelings hurt, for which he should never be trusted to make this kind of decision if that's the case. Or he didn't know this and he's incompetent, for which he should never be trusted to make this kind of decision if that's the case.

Herman tried to use LSU and it backfired... he took less from Texas than what LSU offered.

Maybe he works have taken our offer if it wasn't pulled before Herman saying no?

Like another poster said, we walked away from the table before the cards were even dealt and Alleva is acting like it was the noble thing to do.

Texas was talking to Herman's agent for weeks. The cards were dealt. Herman was waiting for Strong to lose but tried to hold a spot at LSU if that fell through. As soon as he backed away, Alleva knew he didn't want to be at LSU.

Alleva is an Amateur. That's how we ended up with a Johnny Jones. He doesn't want to spend for a top flight BB coach because we aren't drawing crowds. He hasn't even figured out that you build it and then they will come to the games. Until Alleva is gone LSU will be second rate.
