I feel sorry for you guys, because I don't think you realize what you had in Coach Miles. This feels like Georgia getting rid of Richt, a rabid fan base that just isn't happy with "pretty good" and doesn't understand that the backslide is much more likely than an improvement. You may get lucky and land a winner. I hope you do, but I know I and my buddies tuned in from afar to watch The Mad Hatter and his teams.

ESPN just posted an article that sums it up quite well. " LSU fans will miss Les Miles more than they think."

Enough of this. There is a percentage of people who would say this even if we kept Les around as long as Paterno. There is another ESPN article out there saying how stubborn Miles was with the offense and that it got him fired. Why not post that one?

Negative. If this was 2011 or 2012 you might have more credibility.

Thanks for losing to Pitt. Without your help, Miles would not have lasted this long.

if you want to melt you would fit in well with the secr. plenty of melt over LSU waking up and saying frick this its time to compete again.

Les was a good man and at one point a good coach. He wasn't anymore, it was time for a change.

We might even end up with a worse record the next few years but that will likely be caused by the country club that miles created much like mack brown. The timing of the firing was late by a few months. It was time to move on and now we play the game of finding the right coach.

Every talking head at ESPN has been saying LSU needs to move on from Les. Now all the sudden its boo hoo Miles was a great coach you fired because of Nick Saban. LSU didn't want to end up in Tennessee, Texas or Michigan territory where the program truly begins to move backwards because one of the best coaches in your programs history stayed to long.

Easy for non LSU people to say. Watching the hard headed offense, unorganized sideline , and click management debacles. I'm not interested in outsiders operations.

Did you watch LSU the last 2 years and 4 games? No? Then shut the f*ck up.

The guy has had the best talent in the country year after year and can't beat a field goal kicking auburn.

West Virginia can have him if you think he's so good.

So I've been using this situation to identify knowledgeable fans from casual football fans. This sentiment you posted is common among the casual fan that doesnt really watch enough LSU football besides the routine beating by Alabama and the occasional win vs good teams.

Yesterday a fan of another school was posting that his team should hire Miles ASAP, at least to coach defense before he finds a new job.

He's right. 100%.

I have absolutely no confidence in this athletic department to make a great hire, especially the AD.

I would rather go 2-10 every year and fire and hire coaches until we get the right guy, than go 8-5 every year with the worst offense in football.

Alleva is not making this hire. TAF is. This hire may get bungled, but it wont be Alleva's fault.

Those programs moved backwards because of bad coaching hires after firing a successful head coach. There is absolutely no reason for me to expect Alleva to make a good hire. None.

Then you hire Les. You deal with that putrid offense for over a decade and see how you feel!
