Even if he was I wouldn't want him if other options were on the table.

However, I would take him if the only two options were him or Crowton. Truthfully I would take a High School HC os OC over Crowton at this point.

I see the air raid working as well here and in the SEC as Rich Rods O has in Michigan and the Big 10.

We don't have the personal to run his O and are you really prepared to go through a period of him "getting the right people" here?

I'm not sold on the Leach with LSU deal. Don't know if that would work here.

The only personel he needs is a QB, and really, lee could make it work. We have talented enough receivers to where they can adjust to that type of offense. It would be a huge upgrade from gary. We would probably turn the ball over more, but thats expected when you throw it 40+ times a game.

I understand what you're saying. However, the Michigan situation is different. TOTALLY changed the culture up there and he has absolutely NO defense.

here, we would still have a decent defense (that won us 10 games this year). ALso, the personnel is here to run the Air Raid. We have fast receivers, a hybrid TE, an O line that is better at pass blocking than run blocking. The only thing we need is a QB.

Could Leach make Lee into that QB? Or is mettenberger the man?

so you dont think he would alter his offense to suite the players we have?

plus leach needs to be a good citizen and take an oc job if he ever wants the chance to be a hc again.

you're selling Leach short if you think a creative mind like his can't adjust to LSU's personnel. He was superb at OU running a more balanced offense. Air raid didn't come ab til he had to at TT.

I would rather see a power running game called correctly than the air raid. That will always dominate the SEC IMO.

UF with Tebow was basically a power run first then throw deep team.

Same with Bama and Ingram last year.

Cam didn't set the SEC on fire this year by airing it out.

We have WR's of all types and I don't think we'd have to wait. Murphy to WR, we have plenty of talent there as well. Throw in Mett and you have some serious offense.

Maybe it's a pipe dream.

But a great source says Miles is gonna find out if he's interested.

"IF" we get Leach, he'd be a vast improvement over Crowton.

And I don't really care if he'd be a good fit or not. It would be an upgrade.

I would think Les would go with a safer higher like he did with Chavis. Leach isn't out of the realm of possibility though.

Um, Rich Rod's offense has done pretty well at Michigan; they are 4th in the country in total offense ( LINK). LSU fans would be thrilled with that level of offensive production. The problem with Michigan has been defense.

Lee throwing it 40 times a game scares the crap out of me

Lee has made small improvements and the only reason he didn't make many mistakes this year is cause he didn't have enough snaps to screw up.

would you give a new HC any period of grace, while 'getting the right people'?

Go back a few years. My point is the time it will take. You basically waste a few years adjusting and waste a lot of the talent we have recruited already.
