He should be on top of their list. I would want someone who is top notch in handling NIL and the portal. Kiffin has shown he can do both extremely well and succeed at a school like ole miss.
I think Dabo will have to change his philosophy. Idk if he is a lock like he would have been 2-3 years ago.

That’s before he won 11 games and won the recruiting portal battle. Dude is a hot name right now. He would kill it at Bama.

I dont think any coach has done more in two years to improve their image more than Kiffin. it is almost like he hired an image consultant. He settled down with the "get your popcorn" persona, cut back on the 4th down shenanigans somewhat, toned down the speed of the offense so as not to gas his defense, and more shocking than anything, actually fielded a defense. Granted, it was a bad defense, but it wasn't the worst in the SEC.
Things change. Two years ago, I would've agreed with you on Kiffin. Then again, two years ago, Dave Aranda wouldve been a Bama candidate.

Kiffin has shown he can win. He would be a great selection for Bama, and I honestly hope he isn't the choice because he could keep that machine rolling.

Lane has proven over the past couple seasons that he absolutely is one of the best coaches in America. Him being at Alabama would be a huge problem.

Totally different scenarios.
LSU was a complete rebuild basically from the ground up.
He could walk in and win 11 games at Alabama next season easily.
He has a good relationship with the admin and AD already.
He is likely their second choice after Lanning and would be a home run.

He just can’t recruit from high school and has shite defenses and he tends to lose his teams when things go south. But other than that he’s a damn fine coach….

Michigan doesn't either. High school recruiting isn't the life blood of major programs anymore. Now, with parity settling in you need elite X and Os coaches who can develop talent and work the portal.
