Veteran DC Kevin Steele, who just completed his third different stint at @Alabama under Nick Saban, plans to retire from coaching, sources tell ESPN. Steele, who turns 66 in March, has spent 40 years in coaching, 12 as a DC, and was a finalist for the Broyles Award in 2017.

Durkin would be Hutzler's replacement as LB/STs coach.

Is he finally vested in Alabama's pension program? What in particular is so good about Alabama's pension?

If he is in the RSA teacher pension (Retirement Systems of Alabama), you take home about 50% of the average of your highest 3 years salary for the rest of your life when you retire. Its well funded too. RSA owns the hotels and golf courses on the Robert Trent Jones golf trail as well as multiple resorts and the largest office building in NYC (55 Water St). Its a pretty good deal.
