In 2011 John chavis had LSU ranked second in the country in every category and now he has the usfl Baltimore stallions as the second ranked defense also and many people don’t want him back. All he does is turn up top defenses

I like Chief but he looked pretty washed up at Arky.

Good for him if he’s found a spot to continue coaching. I think at one point after he left CFB he was coaching middle school.

Chavis’ best days are behind him and he isn’t a great recruiter — hates it if I remember correctly.

We don’t need retreads.

Doesn’t recruit and this era of spread offenses passes the old fossils by if they have a huge gap between coaching against it.

See Bo Pelini in 2020.

That was a bad arse defense. Probably the best top to bottom ever put in the field. That being said it’s 2024 and Chavis needs to be eating some pudding at the retirement community.

The chief gives you the defense that your talent merits. he is not a wizard in making your defense better than it is. But, it won't suck anymore than it should.

this team probably would've been around the 75th ranked defense with chavis instead of dead last.

Chief was ahead of the curve in defending against them. We were #1 in the SEC his last season with us without our best talent. Give credit where it's due.
