Most likely, at least for another year.

Not this year
Too big of a buyout
I actually think A&M has done well in transitioning to SEC
I thought they would struggle a little bit with the different style in play but Manziel kind of masked some of their talent deficiencies.

They can fight over Herman with UT and LSU next year.

idk, but using the Saban is Miles' kryptonite angle he should be...since Miles is Sumlin's kryptonite.

Yeah he's safe but he needs to win something next season or he'll start feeling the heat

I'm hoping for a war between A&M and Texas for Herman next year.

He beat Alabama once.

Saban is simultaneously responsible for the firing of perfectly good coaches and the tendency to hold on to inferior coaches.

Can you imagine the pressure on him if Chavis does bolt after 1 year?

They're waiting for Chad Morris after next year.

Obviously A&M is happy with being 3rd-5th kind of team. Sumlin's teams looked completely overmatched against decent teams this year.

I never understood the love for Sumlin. His 2012 offense wasn't groundbreaking. It was basically let Manziel run around and make a play. His stock is fading. He would have been wise to make a jump to the NFL last year. I think he'll be on the market next year.

Next year is a very big year for him. If we go 7-5 or 8-4 I could see him being gone

I don’t get why he has such a long leash. He now has his players there and continues to be very mediocre. It would be different if he had a couple big time title runs in him or had improved every year, but that is not the case.

SEC record:
2012 – 6-2 (insane OL and Manziel both from previous regime)
2013 – 4-4
2014 – 3-5
2015 – 4-4 with some really bad blowout losses

My only explanation is that they are giving Chavis time to revamp that defense to make it more competitive before firing Sumlin.

And before you say “but but but Les Miles”, that guy had some title runs which bought him time and I agree he should be replaced at this point if we have a suitable candidate.

The reason you haven't heard much is because he isn't going anywhere.

Not everyone can play in the SEC East.
