our dumbass retarded fans keep pushing this "zomg let's be the bad guys, us against them, frick integrity" mindset while being completely oblivious to the fact that you have to go through the parents of recruits to even get them on campus. It's pretty embarrassing to watch

Not saying it's right or wrong, but does hiring O mean that we condone domestic violence?

Saban hired the dumpster fire of Lane Kiffen, and the larger dumpster fire of Sark, he just doesn't allow them to speak publicly. Nobody beats him up for those hires.

I always knew our fans were delusional but I never thought we'd stoop to borderline Penn State levels of delusion and arse-backwardsness. I take solace in the fact that it's probably a small, inconsequential segment of our fan base

What I'm noticing is there's a segment of the fanbase that really doesn't know anything about the case and assumes they do. You appear to be one of those.

I've posted a variation of this a couple times or more:

quote:

I really hadn't payed much attention to what went down at Baylor with Briles until his name started coming up on this board recently. The more I read about it, the more I believe Briles may gotten a raw deal from the Baylor admin.

For the one incident Briles knew of, the AD was already notified, Briles encouraged the girl to go to the police (but couldn't force her as she's an adult), and none of those players played again (though only one was still on campus at that time.)

If they had the goods on Briles, Briles likely doesn't sue the school for wrongful termination because he would've known they had the good on him during the termination process.

So what does Briles do? He sues them.

Does the school fight him and expose what they know? No. They settle by giving him a $20M payout-- which was most if not all of what he was owed on his contract.

Who sounds guilty in this... Briles or Baylor's admin? Baylor's admin from all I've seen.

I've noted a few people on here who bitch about the PR that Briles would bring. Most of these people seem very closed minded and lack objectivity. And they seem to be basing it mostly on the 60 minute piece that was made to draw ratings instead of looking at the facts. Would a few people get their panties in a wad? Sure. Most will get over it.

If you have something objective to bring to the table that would convince me I'm wrong that Briles was made the scapegoat there, feel free to educate me.

Nobody, when forced to go beyond a single bullshite line of hyperbole that Briles allowed rape/covered up rape/etc., can back it up. They're just parroting what they heard some other parrot say because it makes them feel morally superior to think they know what happened, even though they didn't.

So, are you going to be the one who educates me on what really happened and convince me that Briles wasn't made the scapegoat? Are you capable of going beyond your initial claim with any evidence whatsoever to validate it? Or are you just another parrot?

I truly am interested in hearing evidence if you can produce it. Because all of the morally superior people who tend to be adamantly anti-Briles give me the impression they're just running with a sound bite.

Would be the only silver lining to this Orgeron as HC fiasco.

While I agree with you, you have to admit there is a perception that Briles is tainted goods... Something that the ESPN douches will harp on. We not only have to deal with the truth, but with the perception.

If he's not a HC he really doesn't have the power to cover up rapes anymore.

I still wouldn't consider him for an OC job in a million years.

The evidence is a Virgin was gang raped under a desk by multiple players and testified that she went to Baylor officials and coaching staff. They didn't report it to police and basically said ot was her fault and she was a ho.

Forgiveness and Second Chance. If we win with Briles that's the narrative. Winning cures all.
