Certainly since Paul Dietzel did it all himself.

it'll be interesting to me to see what defensive position changes will occur in the coming years. i'm sure that tenuta or whoever comes would want to bring some of his guys. and you can never know how the current guys will mesh with tenuta and vice versa.

imo, this is probably the biggest reason that les is entertaining the idea of promoting from within.

He really needs to become Brad Peveto at some point, or BD Peveto.

It should be good.

I hope he or whoever it is can keep us in the top 3 in defense nationally.

50% othe reason we are winning big now is because of talent and 50% because we have a great coaching staff from the HC on down -- including Peveto who designed some fine special team plays that helped us beat SC, FL, and Tn. From the 60's to 2000, we had average to below HC, coordinators, and position coaches with the exception of Arnsparger.

I thought we'd all settled on Crapnut.

man, it would be impressive. it's hard to doubt any of miles' hires. he surrounds himself with great coaches.

If LSU brings in Tenuta we may have 50 sacks next year.

You would take coach crappunt over tenuta? are you joking? I'm salivating at the stark contrast of the pressure on the qb's we'll face with tenuta as opposed to pelini...gtech led the nation in sacks

so you guys are implying that Tenuta is better than Pelini who was good enough to be hired to Nebraska, but Tenuta was apparently not good enough to coach GT?

I don't understand the logic...with Pelini we were very good (elite staff)... with tenuta, even at best

The current staff is probably the best ever. Pelini took us to top 3 finishes in total D 3 years running.

Tenuta will be very exciting and you'll all get your wishes for blitzing. But his GT defense got lit up 2 or 3 times a year by teams that could pick up the blitz and throw deep. Tenuta will have more to work with at LSU, and I think he's the best hire out there, but you might go from bashing Pelini for not blitzing enough, to bashing Tenuta for blitzing even when it's not working.

Don't get me wrong - I'm happy if it's Tenuta - but it will be hard to top what Pelini has done there. Tenuta will have bad games at LSU too.
