it will be bad, real bad. If Alleva opens up a wide open search, LSU fans will be very disappointed with the final choice. There just aren't any slam dunk coaches to be had. The melt would be epic.

There are rarely any slam dunk coaches to be had. Unless you can pry Jimbo or Chip Kelly loose, you're going to have to look at second tier. Which is not the end of the world - we'll find someone quality. LSU has too much to offer for a quality coach not to come here.

Sort of agree. We need to be lining up the next guy already.

This is not a good year to be changing your coach. Have you seen the list of schools needing coaches? Not good!

Mullen, Fedora, Gundy, et al do not equal Curly.

The target is Jimbo Fischer. Get all the details handled before pulling the trigger. We'll be fine.

who on that list is more impressive than LSU and can pay more?

the only one that anyone can argue is USC and they aren't going to overlap too much with who we target.

Ole Miss has a glorified high school coach and they aren't doing bad at all.

The fanbase will deserve it.

so you think the step down from Jimbo Fisher is a Stoval level hire?

Tier 1: NFL Head Coach, Championship winning coach.
Tier 2: Jerry Stoval

he is just a les fan first

I do agree it would be highly stupid to can him without having someone lined up. However we are at best the best opening and at worst the second best opening.
