If Joey Freshwater comes here, should he coach the playoffs?

I say no. Bama is the enemy and anything good for them is bad for us. And vice versa. Thats one of Kiffin's biggest selling points to me, to hire Bama's OC and give them a swift kick in the nuts, right before the playoffs.

Always thought it was dumb how Kirby Smart helped them win a championship before starting his job at UGA. When he signed with UGA, i would absolutely expect him to start working to take down Bama immediately. Not fraternizing with the old team, and helping them stay on top and build for the future, while the new team is twisting in the wind, waiting.

Do you know if Kiffin is even considering coming to LSU?

Did he interview? Has he or LSU issued a statement saying anything about Kiffin coaching the offense at LSU?

If he is hired at LSU I think it will be after the playoffs. If he were to be hired before Nick will have his belongings shipped to Baton Rouge. No way he continues working here under that circumstance.

Yes, it is the worst kept secret in town. He's likely coming if he doesnt get a HC gig. Plus i didnt say he was coming, i said if he comes....

Dude, would he even have to interview? It's not like Orgeron is unfamiliar with him.

Why would you say that when Kirby Smart stayed before bouncing to UGA?

Personally, i would agree. If he was taking a rival job i wouldnt want him anywhere near the program. Especially a known sleezeball. But thats not how its been done in the past.

Because Kirby was taking a promotion to a team in the other division. And Nick and Kirby had/have a very strong relationship, almost father-son.

Lane would be making a lateral move (at best) to a division rival. And obviously they aren't too close.

The diffference in circumstances isn't hard to see.

yea, maybe so. I think it would 100% depend on what gives Bama the best chance to win these 2 games. Saban would hate the uncertainty of a new OC going into the playoffs.

But i think UGA was the one that was dumb to let him stay on. He got a chance to head coach at a top 10 gig and he's still farting around with his old team, helping them pull further away from the rest of the SEC? no thanks.

Yes, but I don't know that he trusts Lane like he did Kirby. Plus Saban could pick up the slack on the defensive side in terms of game-planning and preparation. He can't do that with Kiffin splitting time.

i think it was about continuity. Keeping the same routines, etc for the playoffs. I get why Bama might want to keep Smart or Kiffin on board, but dont see why the new schools would allow it.

Also true about Kiffin. I could see him making copies of the Bama defensive playbook late at night, calling recruits, stealing the curtains, etc.

This right m'f'n here. It seems that almost everything projected on this board has been rumor and false chatter. Where is the "official" statement from LSU confirming any of this. It is pure speculation until something official is announced. Read for entertainment purposes, only.

Coach O has certainly put this out there and was hired at least partially on the chance of it.(which i think was stupid, but we're past that now.)
