I don't understand why this is a supposed given. Any articles on the topic?

Depends on whether or not he wants to be a HC in 2 years. If so, I imagine he stays at LSU.

Either way, he's likely at LSU for the short term.

Why would Aranda want to be a DC in the Big 12?

The defense played there is horrible. And, with Herman in the Big 12, they will be in a bunch of shoot outs no matter who the DC is. If you want to coach top defenses, the SEC would be the place to be.

I think so too. He just moved his family, and is having success here. Why risk that unless the new HC and him really don't jive.

Reality is UT will buy Aranda and LSU will not be able to compete with it watch and see. Herman will probably make one of his demands to take the job is that they have to get Aranda no matter what the cost and UT is so desperate to be relevant again they are going to have an open checkbook period end of story. Watch and see I can promise you I will not be wrong!

This just a hunch, at best. What motivates aranda to leave? Just because they roomed together doesn't mean he just moves his whole family again as a favor.

If that does happen, get Strong. He can recruit and is a solid DC.

I want to keep Aranda for sure but there are other options

Or, what if Aranda takes a HC job somewhere?

That's why we need a real head coach people. Not someone reliant on two coordinators.
