Which is why I ask belowpar..........does Crowton know he's on the way out yet? Have Miles and/or the athletic department told him he's out?

I don't know if he know's or not.

Crowton is apparently the last one to know

I have no idea who belowpar is. All I can say is given his rep over the years (and his info contradicting info I've heard from fairly good sources that ultimately turned out to be wrong while belowpar was SPOT ON THE MONEY)...

I agree. When belowpar speaks, I listen. I'm not questioning him at all, just trying to figure things out.

I'm hoping he's gone and certainly put a LOT of stock in what belowpar says but it just makes me uneasy when I hear what I heard and tie it in to the fact that we have hired two new coaches (something you often wait until the new OC for, unless there is already a new OC okay-ing the hires behind the scenes.............)

So we'll see. It just seems that either he's not entire up front about the deal or he doesn't know. I was more troubled by what the word was on his playcalling.

Belowpar's sources must be over Miles' head.

The two theories aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. Crowton may be taking that position, with LSU's blessing. I'd suspect the plan would be to make things look as if he had another opportunity appear soon..ie..OC at Utah...and then we hire one of the many names on the board.

Sounds like the same type of plan as last year's DC change.

Yes...

I definitely think if Belowpars information on a situation that is not settled and could certainly change in the next month turns out to be wrong we should dump the only really GREAT source that exists on this or any other publically available LSU board....

Exactly what I've been thinking.

That way we don't have to "fire" anyone........well.........except DJ.

Am I blind or do I just not see tigerlawyer's post? Does Utah need an OC?

My favorite theory is that belowpar is some IT geek reading email OR CLM himself...but whoever he is, he's solid.

If BP turned out to be CLM himself, I would quite litterally shite my pants. That would be the single greastest use of internet age information management ever known to me. It would be PRICELESS and I would give Miles much kudos.

We hired D position coaches last year before Chavis was inked, didn't we?

This is shaping up to be exactly like last year. belowpar insisting that the coordinator in question is gone and that CLM is letting them find a way out rather than be fired while other sources say something else, and everyone panicking because "this so-and-so thing wouldn't be happening if CLM was really going to replace *insert coordinator here*."

If I never said anything was definite, I'd be right 100% of the time too. Crowton stays IMO.

ETA: after reading a few of the other posts, I agree this may be simlar to last year and both camps are 1/2 right, meaning, Crowton stays but only through the bowl game and is allowed to find another job and gracefully exit, not be "fired".

I'm pretty sure we didnt..........

the stories were Jan. 5, 7, then 9 on Chavis, Cooper, than Haley. That's when they were in the TP as released by LSU sports information.
