say what? Saban will have all the leverage. He is their No. 1 target...that is no secret. He will get to choose from a huge offer from UT and from Bama...He Set.

Biggest misinformation in college football. Remember who set the bar on paying maga coaches that kind of jack. It was Alabama. If Saban goes to Texas, it won't be because Bama couldn't match their offer. WOULD they is a whole different story.

Saban has no bearing on Mack Brown. Mack is going to be out of there.

I don't get this line of thinking. In a theoretical world where reason and common sense do not exist, yes, Texas could outspend us. Someone a while ago posted the revenue and profit numbers from 2011 or 2012, which showed that Alabama had something in the realm of $45m in profits to Texas' approximately $75m of profits. So, yes, Texas COULD outspend us, but it would take a literally insane amount of money to reach the point where Bama couldn't afford to match Texas' offer.

Texas does have the capability to make an offer that Bama could not match, but it would be such an astronomical number that I would be surprised to see it happen. If he leaves, it's not because he couldn't get the money he wanted from Alabama.

Haven't you heard? Texas has a way bigger endowment. They'll bankrupt the entire thing on Saban.

Exactly. Texas can only outbid Alabama if they go to the insane amount. Like 15+. Alabama will not get outbid by a few million dollars. Period.

No, you're misunderstanding. Some Bama guy said that Sexton is using whatever numbers Texas gives their next coach (who they say won't be Saban) and will ask for more money from Bama. My assertion is that once the Texas job is taken, then Bama won't have to renegotiate with Saban at all.

If Bama's premise is that Saban won't leave, then why would they have to offer anything at all?

I understood it that they were waiting on a formal offer from Texas to counter offer.
