Who knows but what we do know is that we're assembling a great staff staring with new s/c and nutrition coaches. Like him or not all of this is being led by a head coach with vast experience as well as success.
I really don't think he will hire anyone sight unseen. We haven't seen this much attention to detail and "alignment" since Saban.

I have a feeling Kelly is actually interviewing the assistants, so that’s a step in the right direction

Is it not absolutely insane that we think a very basic part of hiring someone is a step in the right direction?

I’m right there with you but all of this just goes to show how sloppy we have been lately from a management standpoint.

Some top players will transfer, it won’t be easy.

You will start to see even more soon.

No doubt some will and they will all have their own reasons as to why but regardless of their reasons, LSU doesn't need anyone who doesn't want to be there and isn't willing to give 100%. I personally wish them all the best if/when they decide to go but the program is bigger than any one individual and honestly, it's time that some of those guys learn that.

Don't forget that Tennessee had a colossal exodus after Pruitt left, and they actually got better without those guys.

The culture change is about moving from paper tigers to something a lot better.

Just let it play out. Kelly will find talent that he can win with.

Perhaps some other teams’ top players will transfer in as well.

So be it. One thing LSU will always be able to reload with is DBs.

I have said this many times. Saban has been here. He knows what LSU could be if they only got a competent coach. LSU is a giant. We just need a leader. People always say that Saban is not worried about LSU. bullshite! Why do you think he pushed Florida Atlantic to hire Lane Kiffin? He knew that if Lane would have come here to be O's OC, he would give him fits with LSU's talent. BK is the competent coach that LSU needs. He already has great Louisiana recruiters on staff (Frank Wilson and Raymond). He brings his contacts from all over the US and we should be able get top 5 classes every year. I fully trust BK to make great hires for OC, DC, and the other coaches. I do think a power shift is coming and LSU is making a serious move.

A group is always a reflection of its leadership. O created the environment at LSU, and with his departure, Kelly's arrival, and now Kelly's Heroes in leadership, the environment O created will dissipate for various "reasons". Many of those around the locker room would not work in Kelly's world anyway,, because they were chosen by O, for his reasons, and would not have necessarily been around under Kelly anyway. It's the beginning of better days at LSU.

Yes Mac, all due respect 1977 but our definition of “top players” are different. Talented sure, top nah. Top players have the talent but use it to raise others.
If they’re beholden to Orgeron, bye. I believe they most realize the jig is up and there is accountability now.

B.J. is the one I'm worried about. Heard he may be on his way to the portal

Exactly. They are supposed to be here for LSU not any particular coach. If they work hard then they would see the field regardless
