I wouldn't consider Briles under any circumstances. And Kiffin is a child that cannot run a program. Mullen isn't an elite coach I don't think but he's very solid and given more to work with would probably win pretty consistently

This. My thoughts exactly.

What has he done when he didn't have a future starting NFL QB carrying his team?

He's made a bowl game every year except for his first season. He had a pretty good offense with freaking Chris Relf at QB and won 9 games.

And why do people use his success with Dak as a negative against him? It's not like Dak was heavily recruited and arrived in Starkville oozing with NFL potential. Coaching helped get him there.

Mullen would not be one of my top choices, but when you consider he took over a moribund program and has kept them competitive in the nation's toughest division for nearly a decade, he's clearly a good coach.

I like all 3 of those guys honestly. Offensive minds. LSU would have a dominant offense with any of them.

Briles stink is too bad right now. Merlins v. Lane is a tough one. I think Mullen is a rock solid teacher, not sure about Xs and Os, but might crap the bed in recruiting. Lane will kill recruiting, is good/great on Xs and Os, but not sure about development, and might get you in trouble with the NCAA.

Briles no doubt. I think his name gets cleared pretty soon and he will jump to the top of a bunch of lists. He's pretty Damn old though.

Not trying to start shite. Genuine questions:

1) why do you believe his name gets cleared?

2) even if it does, do you really want him here. I feel, my opinion only, that he had to be turning somewhat of a blind eye to all of the terrible things happening in his program. Even if the media forgives him, would you want someone of that character here?

I just have serious doubts about this guy's integrity. Any info or links to persuade me he was oblivious to all this?

I hate to say it, but I'd have to go Kiffin here. My god, I never thought I would say that in my entire life.

ETA: While I think Briles is the best coach of the three, he obviously would not and should not be chosen considering the circumstances.

I have to pick one? There's no other option? Only ONE of those three coaches?

I take Art Briles, and I suffer the consequences of the negative press.

Mullen is the safest on that list. Kiffen I would hate but might be okay. Art Briles can rot in fricking hell.

yep, been hearing the same about his name clearing.. Apparently it was the AD and president doing the dirty work, and he was told to keep it quiet from the Board of Directors... And he isnt that damn old.. he still has a good 6-7 years in him... His offense though...would be incredible with LSUs athletes...

because he was told from his bosses to stay quiet, how many times do you really go against your boss?.. His exact statement was "Well, if the parents are ok with this outcome, and both parties have settled it, then, ok"..

Those were his exact words.. Not going to the press is not a crime to protect something that you built.. The parties involved in the rape case settled behind closed doors..

if you dont think that that stuff happens in every head football coaches office in america you are sadly mistaken, the world is not all sunshine and rainbows. You cant fault a guy for leaving something alone that was settled by both parties behind closed doors.
