I have heard on here and other outlets that his dream job is Texas. How bad would it be if he came here for a year or two and then left for Texas? Example : Kifin at Tennessee! This is major concern to me.

Yeah it's always a risk that a successful coach will leave

I'll take two or three years of Herman if he's successful enough that another team wants him.

At this point I just don't want Coach O.

It's just the same nonsense over and over again

Herman is a smart man and most likely prefers a more win now program with more talent

And less pressure too

O worry:

Hiring him and then having to buy out his contract to get him to leave.

If Herman wants to take Applewhite with him, Texas may be a no-go because of the past history.

this "dream job" idea is something that may have existed 40 years ago but now is a made up thing by fans who post on message boards. His dream job is where he make tons of money and has the resources to compete at the highest level.

I think that has always been an assumption... and a bad one. Probably propagated by Texans, who think everything outside of the borders of Texas is very similar to Nigeria.

What's the difference between an a-hole and a coon arse?
The Sabine River

Good coaches, career minded individuals, people with something to prove, and up-and-comers don't think that way.

Only after all that is taken care of do you get a coach who settles in like that. And then it's probably somewhere else, or they get fired for being lazy.

Less pressure? This fanbase got a coach fired that averaged 10 wins a szn

I would say less pressure in the sense that he wouldn't have to build, or rebuild, a program.

That has a downside though...
Means no excuses for those high expectations. In that sense, you are dead on.
