I really hope he's the hidden rabbit in the hat. He has to be number 1 choice and it shouldn't even be close.
His brains paired with Aranda's would wreak havoc on the SEC for years to come.

Downvote away, Macintosh and your Jimbo supporting friends..

I'd take Herman if he's willing. Most upside of any hire

Every candidate has worrisome losses. Losing to smu and navy certainly raises legitimate questions. Jimbo has won an nc and is more proven, but has a bad couple of losses too

Big game Herman should be his name.

He is great.

Do you know about his offense insofar as run? I believe you have to be able to power run in the SEC.

I assume he was there at OSU with Zeke Eliot. Is that correct? If so, I'd guess he has a rush attack when he has RBs to do it.

I believe Jimbo would be our safest hire and would fit well. HOWEVER, something about Herman and his vibe gets to me. Seems like the next big time coach and is young as hell. He's got a great offensive mind and always raves about how his defense comes first... THAT'S what we are looking for, a guy with an offensive mind who knows defense wins championships.

this is now leaking out on UT boards in the last hour

The gist of it: Texas was all in on Herman until yesterday, when they discovered a "red flag" in the vetting process that now has us spooked. Not a complete deal breaker, but pretty significant, and we have no back up plan if Herman isn't our guy. Also, Herman is going to Baylor if we pass on him.

a majority of people who want Jimbo would be fine with Herman also

Dude his losses are games we would win on talent alone

He beats far superior teams with less take from which is far more important for LSU to finally have an x and o HC

The red flag is that he wears LSU socks

Or that he kisses his players.

Maybe there's a video from someone's phone of him frenching a player.

And FYI, I could care less what he does with his players, as long as he comes to LSU, runs a clean program and WINS.

I will credit him for having his team ready for big games. His handling of adversity needs a lot of work.

He has a big upside to him, but his unproven is my biggest worry. As much as people on this site scream about LSU is not the place to get your start. Two seasons is just starting.
