oh bullshite. herman is a technical fundamentals coach.
he's beating the brakes off of power 5 schools, going up against jimbo and bob stoops. not to mention he knocked off bama while OC at ohio state with a 3rd string QB.

herman is the real deal.

As of today the potential still stands for Herman to knock off Stoops, Jimbo/Petrino twice, and Saban in just over a year. I'm not gonna bet on it, but it wouldn't shock me. He's more of a gamble, but the upside is huge

I agree 19 games is rather short head coach career. But as long as the he passes the litmus test with our board and AD then I don't have a problem with it.

herman beating these teams with recruits he inherited shows just how good of a coach he truly is.

I don't think it matters. I think Jimbo is the guy that LSU wants and will get. I want Herman, but I just don't see it. I just don't think he even gets offered the position.

And LSU will regret this decision. Herman went head to head with Fisher in a bowl game, everyone called me an idiot for predicting UH would win, we all know the outcome. And there are people on here calling for the loser of that game to be our head coach, over the winner of that game. I truly do not understand. Did Miles brainwash us into accepting mediocrity?

In all fairness you picked one great example with Meyer. There are way more examples that don't go that well. I agree w OP, but disagree w op about petrino sorry but petrino is not who I'd want for LSU

Yes because he has beat teams that had more talent. We had a coach who loses to less talented teams.

I'm on the Herman train, but you don't base a coaching hire on 1 damn game, that's pretty dumb. Fisher obviously has the better resume. If it's herman, it's based on potential. Jimbo is way more proven.

19 games isn't nearly enough.

I would want a guy that had been a Head Coach through at least 5 years and had multiple QB's perform.

I remember the hiring of Dennis Franchione at Texas A&M. He built a rep at TCU,where he had a RB named Ladanian Tomlinson carrying his team.

Not enough due diligence.

wasnt the A&M faithful jerking off over hiring Herman when your drunk coach was being drunk and stupid?

Dude, I'm with you. If it were my decision, Herman would be my guy, but I'm just a fan sitting behind a computer screen.

No. I was the one that had enough sense to know there were over $15 million reasons Sumlin wasn't going anywhere.

Honestly, idgaf who you hire, I just thought it was an interesting question.
