Christ on a cracker. This is a truly depressing state of affairs for the program, Aranda info notwithstanding. A once top-tier football program has been reduced to promoting position coaches to two of its three most important positions. Our incoming OC didn’t even want the damn job, and our former DL coach thinks he can manage the running game.

Sustained success in a given sport takes full buy-in from everyone within the program, not just the coaches. Given the alleged disharmony of our current administration, I wonder just how much has to be dismantled before we can get back on the right track. It’s amateur hour and we have zero competent leadership.

This crap right here is why we will never get anywhere until the entire staff is blown up. Our administration and fans alike have this notion that we can just replace one or two guys here or there and it will all get better. It just doesn’t work like that. Head coaches and coordinators want to bring their own guys. No one is going to want to come here if we continue to have our good ol’ Boys that we want to keep, while trying to bring in the big boys. I’m done with this administration.

Figure he doesnt want to seem ungrateful or make this about money, so he makes an awkward, but not completely unreasonable request...knowing full well we already replaced Grimes. He gets his 'no' and everything in Gilbert's world goes back to normal with no backlash. Smart play by him all around

It is good when you realize how dangerously close Aranda was to bolting.

So if Aranda is HCIW, does he tank just a bit to ensure he gets O fired this year
